An interesting mod that adds new mechanics to Minecraft – Infection. It makes zombies really dangerous, because now they can not only kill everything around, but also infect you and other peaceful mobs with the Zombie Virus.

After a zombie bites you, you’ll get a message in the chat that you are infected and must take medicine. At the same time, the Slowness, Nausea, and Infection effects will be imposed on you.

If you don’t take the medicine after the effects expire, you’ll get infected. After that, the number of negative effects will grow, and you won’t be able to play normally until you die or take the medicine. In addition, you’ll burn in the sun like zombies if you don’t have armor on your head.

Medicine – is a new item that you can craft on the workbench. Only it can completely remove all the negative effects imposed on you and help you recover from the zombie virus, but only until you get infected next time.

Zombies can infect not only the player, but other mobs as well. Thus, infected chickens will give infected eggs, and infected cows – infected milk. The rest of the infected mobs will drop rotten flesh instead of meat and other resources like all zombies do.

If you drink infected milk, you’ll be automatically teleported to a new Infected dimension that looks like the End but contains new infected blocks. Unfortunately, the author of the mod gave it up before completing this dimension and switched to a new version of the game, so now it’s just empty islands with Endermen and nothing else.

If you want to get back, drink milk again but be prepared that the Nausea effect will be imposed on you again, which will be eliminated only after you take the medicine for the Zombie Virus.
