Woodster: New Bookshelves and Ladders for Minecraft

Bookshelves have been added to Minecraft a long time ago, but almost nothing has changed or been added since that time, even given that they are a significant decorative element and one of the most frequently used items necessary to enchant armor, weapons, and tools to the maximum level. You can change the appearance of the bookshelves with the help of special texture packs but would like to enjoy other models in the vanilla game version, right? It is here where a mod called Woodster comes to the rescue by adding several new types of bookshelves to Minecraft, along with the ladders of the same style.

The bookshelves will have the same purpose as those in the vanilla version, and the changes will affect only their appearance. In total, the Woodster mod adds 17 different types of shelves to the game, the shades of which are very similar to the colors of wood in Minecraft. Review of the Woodster Mod

As we have already noted, the Woodster mod adds not only bookshelves but also new types of ladders, but let us start with the shelves first.

New Bookshelves and Shelves

The bookshelves in this mod can be roughly divided into two categories: ordinary shelves, on which books are practically not visible, and shelves with books like those in the vanilla version of Minecraft but with slightly modified textures. All of them are crafted from different types of in-game wood and look colorful and  unusual, although they retain the same vanilla style. Their shades are completely different: turquoise, orange, brown, beige, and many others. So you can now decorate your house with such blocks inside, choosing the appropriate option and wood needed for their crafting.

If you are going to craft the ordinary shelves without books, only planks and slabs of the appropriate wood type will be necessary for that. Thus to create an oak shelf, you will require six plank blocks and three slabs. Other variants are crafted in the same way. In turn, those users who would like to create the bookshelves from the Woodster mod will need to use three books and six blocks of wood of the necessary type. The procedure is basically the same as in the vanilla version of Minecraft — only the plank type changes. Such bookshelves look high-quality, perfectly complement the overall game style, and can diversify the decor in a couple of clicks.

We have already uploaded a large number of different maps, both large cities and small settlements, but some of them completely lack decorative elements. Thus, modern cities with offices require different types of shelves, but the standard content of Minecraft does not allow you to diversify these premises. However, you can do that in a couple of clicks by installing the Woodster mod, which allows you to create unique offices or buildings with decorated interiors, be they modern or medieval. In this regard, everyone decides how to proceed and what to use for themselves.

New Types of Ladders

Another feature of the Woodster mod is that it adds different types of ladders, the appearance of which strongly resembles the style of the bookshelves. The vanilla game version features only one ladder option added in the first versions of Minecraft, and that is a big fault of the developers. In contrast, the developer of this add-on has created cool versions of the ladders that are suitable for almost any setting and era, be it fantasy, medieval, or modern. Thus, some ladder types are created exclusively from the wood of the Nether, while others feature golden inclusions, even though gold is not required for their crafting.

Here you will see both the usual variants of stairs, similar to the standard ones in terms of shape, and wholly new ones, including spiral, single-rail, and many others. All of them look unusual and attractive and can be used in almost any setting. At the same time, the mod under consideration is relatively small, does not overload your build, and can be used on any map. So the mod has proved very high-quality and elaborate. It allows you to diversify the in-game interiors and complement the vanilla style while retaining this very style, given there are no flashy colors, too-odd shapes, and other strange points peculiar for some such mods here. The developer of the Woodster add-on has preferred moderate shades, although he has added the ladders of somehow unusual forms and ordinary shelves without books. However, such elements are only additional, and it is solely up to you what to use and in what form. The Woodster mod is occasionally updated and supplemented, so be sure to follow it if you want to enjoy new content.
