How often do you visit different biomes in the Nether? After all, there are a lot of different locations in Minecraft, and new territories are added there from time to time, where you can get rather valuable blocks, materials, and items. The soul sand is required to grow «warts» that you need to craft potions, and the player has to visit hell in Minecraft to collect these blocks. And if you feel that you don’t have enough content related to this biome, we suggest installing the Soul Sand Life mod, which will add a new mob, armor, and weapons to the game.

The Soul Sand Life mod is rather small, and its functions are limited to the soul sand only. All the novelties and blocks of the mod will be added to this very biome. But now, a new gameplay will accompany your visits to the location, which is uncommon for the vanilla version of Minecraft. The Soul Sand Life mod review

The Soul Sand Life modadds one new mob from the Soul Sand to the game, a full armor set and a sword that is made of the Soul Sand as well. Unusually, but now the Nether blocks’ value will be many times higher than it used to be. And you’ll get an additional armor set that you can use in the game if you can’t craft a diamond or a Netherite one. It’s a kind of a quick way to craft a set for hell in Minecraft so that you could quickly accumulate resources, or pass through certain locations, or get into particular biomes.

The Soul Sand Monster – is a new mob, which is a square dark brown creature. It emits particles, and it seems that it’s a kind of a smaller version of a wound-up tractor. Besides, this mob looks like a flame shooting the Soul Sand at other players. Indeed, this creature uses only the blocks from its biome to protect itself. At the same time, the mob has shifty eyes, and it looks funny. You won’t feel scared if you meet such a creature in the Nether, but vice versa, you’ll want to get closer to look at the monster. However, it will outright attack you.

You can tame the Soul Sand Monster, with the edible Soul Sand. This block appears in the game, and you can find it in hell. This new material is actual similar to the standard one, but there are still certain differences. You can try teleporting the animal to the common world using standard bugs and a portal to the Nether, but here it depends on the Minecraft version installed on your PC. The mob looks really great, and this is one of the few mods that you may want to install just to look at such a «wonder», especially since it lives in another dimension.

Armor and weapons

Another important feature of the Soul Sand Life modification – is a new type of armor, which is also crafted from the Soul Sand. To craft all the elements only sand blocks from the Nether are used, and the crafting procedure is exactly the same as of the diamond armor, but other types of blocks are used. And the best thing – the protection characteristics will be even a bit higher than those of the diamond armor, and this is a real opportunity to craft a cool set and then enchant it using standard Minecraft charm. The Soul Sand is easy to find, and you can enchant the set by gaining experience or buying books from civilians. As a result, you’ll get a cool armor set crafted of cheap materials.

Indeed, the set visually looks very good. It’s of a brown color merging with the Soul Sand. If you play on a server and wander into a similar biome, it’ll be easy for you to hide. Use the enchantment books and apply the «Protection», «Fire Resistance», and other no less important effects to increase the value of this armor as a whole. For your convenience, we’ve additionally posted the crafting recipes as screenshots, although, as we’ve mentioned before, they are completely identical to the diamond version of the armor in the vanilla game version.

And the last point is a new type of weapon. The sword looks even better than the rest of the content added by the Soul Sand Life mod. It inflicts 8 damage points and can be enchanted. Just look at its appearance, how cool it looks in the character’s hands. And it’s extremely easy to craft – two blocks of the Soul Sand and the Blaze Rod. At last, you can use the rods somewhere else, since they had quite a limited usage in the vanilla version of Minecraft.

So, we’ve reviewed a small, but interesting mod. If you think that you don’t have enough content when visiting hell in Minecraft and feel like expanding its functionality a little and improving its gameplay, install the Soul Sand Life mod and fight mobs, tame them, craft new types of armor, and just enjoy the gameplay. This is one of those mods that don’t significantly affect the game balance but at the same time can improve the gameplay and hook you from the first minutes.
