Pyrotech: A Mod That Makes Survival More Difficult

A mod called Pyrotech makes survival much harder and also adds a lot of new items and blocks. When you create a world, you will be given a book that describes this mod and contains all the crafting recipes.

Initial Stages of the Development

There are stone and other rocks needed to craft crude tools scattered all over the world. Besides, you will need plant fiber, which is sometimes dropped by the ordinary grass, as well as a usual stick, which can be obtained from the foliage of any tree. To simplify the collection of stones and other similar items, the mod adds a bag that can store 640 stones. Its improved version can store 1280 stones.

Making Planks From Wood in a New Way

Turning wood into planks in the usual way is no longer possible, so you will have to craft a chopping block. To create it, you will need a crude axe and a wood block. After that, you need to put the log on the chopping block and make planks. To create your first worktable, you need to continue chopping a plank on the block, get a slab, then find any wood block, and craft a worktable that will replace the crafting table. The block has a better variant called the sawmill. It can make sixteen planks at once in a short time. But it will be highly difficult to craft it at the very beginning of your survival. Besides, it leaves a large amount of waste.

Crafting on the Worktable

Crafting items on the worktable is slightly different from working with the crafting table. You will have to arrange the ingredients on the table and use a hammer to craft the desired item.

New Campfire

The mod adds a new campfire, which will require flint, tinder, and eight logs. But you can also light it with a bow drill. You can cook food there, but it is better to keep an eye on it so that it does not burn. The fire will burn for about sixteen minutes.

New Storage Blocks

This mod also adds various types of blocks in which you can store resources: the box, wood rack, stache, shelf, wood worktable, and stone worktable.

New Ores

The mod features three ore types: fossil, dense coal, and dense Nether, which can be found in the Nether. The first one drops bone shards and bones necessary for crafting bone tools. Other ores drop a large amount of coal.

New Tools

This mod adds three types of tools and swords: bone, flint, and obsidian. Each of them is crafted using shards. Bone shards can be obtained from the fossil ore. Flint shards can be produced on the granite anvil. Obsidian shards are created with the help of the bloomery. To make a granite anvil, you will need a stone slab, which can be created in the pit kiln. You will have to dry a plant fiber on a drying rack and then create this kilt. Dig a pit, put a stone slab, straw, and wood there, and set it on fire.

Obtaining Shards

To obtain obsidian shards, you need to craft the wither forge. It is not an easy task, as you need the heads of wither skeletons to do this. After creating the forge, put obsidian or ore on the top, then put the coal, and light it. The ores will smelt for a very long time, so it is worth creating the bellows and placing them next to the forge. But you will have to jump on them. However, there are also mechanical bellows. For this mechanism, as for any other, a gear is needed, which will have to be replaced over time. The forge will emit characteristic sounds during the process. After the forge is out, you will see the ash on top, which needs to be removed with a shovel. Below, you will find a small cube, which is precisely what you need. The main thing is not to take it with your bare hands; otherwise, you can just catch fire and die. To pick it up, you need to craft tongs. Then put it on a granite anvil and start hammering it. This must be done carefully, as there is also a chance of catching fire. Finally, you will get the obsidian shards.
