It is not necessary to install Backpack and other similar mods that dramatically change the resource storage system. If you would like to expand the slots only slightly, be sure to install an add-on called Pockets for your Pants, which adds makeshift pockets for leggings. Interesting mechanics, isn't it? The designer has already released a version for Minecraft 1.20.1 and actively supports his development.

The Pockets for your Pants mod adds a few new storage cells to the game, but they will be available only if the player wears leggings. It is on them that the makeshift pockets appear, where you can store more resources in six cells. Isn't that realistic? Indeed, almost any person has at least one pocket on any piece of clothing, but here, it was decided to add it to leggings. This feature has proved to be unusual and very convenient, given that there is a separate mini GUI here.

Review of the Pockets for Your Pants Mod

Are you ready to try something new? If so, it is time to install the Pockets for your Pants add-on and expand the in-game storage slots. Minecraft has never been so close to reality in terms of the storage system. The modder has shown a genuine wit and achieved a cool result. But you should take into account a small nuance: that only works with the leather armor, as the diamond, iron, and other sets cannot have pockets by definition. So if you are ready to periodically enchant the leather armor and wear it, you should necessarily try this mod.

However, there is another interesting mechanic. To use the pockets of leggings in Minecraft, you will not have to put them on the character immediately. You will be able to place them in your inventory, put all the necessary resources inside, and only then put them on or hang them on the armor stand. That is convenient because you can immediately hide potions, arrows, and many other important items and consumables that will be useful to you during your battles and travels. You will thus be able to take advantage of not only an extra storage means but also a new way of interacting with your belongings.

To put some item into the pockets, click the RMB while holding it in your hands, pointing at the leggings. You will thus be able to put 64 units of different resources, be they a stack of bricks or four half-stacks of different food types. The uniform rule is that the number should not exceed 64. Further, if you try to put some particular item there, it will take up the place of an entire stack, although it usually occupies just one cell. Such mechanics are very interesting and elaborate, and each player here decides how to properly allocate resources for themselves.

If you decide to pull some items out of leggings, it will be enough to click the RMB on them, and they will start to randomly appear in your inventory. The pockets feature six storage cells, and you will be able to easily transfer this equipment piece in chests, barrels, and other containers, and all the loot will remain inside. Next to the leggings, you will see a strip showing how much free space is left, but it is better to hover the cursor over them to get more detailed information.

That is all the functionality brought by the Pockets for your Pants add-on, and it will be a great addition or alternative to standard backpack-related mods. However, at the moment, the pockets are available only for the leather armor and, most likely, will not appear for other sets at all because that would be unrealistic. Even so, the idea itself and its implementation are noteworthy. It is a convenient storage system, although it will look unusual at first, and without such guides as ours, it is quite difficult to comprehend how to pull items out of the new slots at all.
