Odd Water Mobs is a mod that diversifies the underwater world with new creatures. So the Minecraft game world will now be inhabited by ten more mobs than before. All of them live exclusively in a deep-sea biome, also added by this mod. Only lobsters can also be on the coasts of warm oceans. The new biome consists not only of the vanilla blocks and can also boast new content. It is very easy to find this biome, as it is very different from the familiar underwater world. Besides, we are going to tell you how to quickly find it.

New Deep Ocean Dunes Biome

The new biome added by this mod is very different from the vanilla ones, which can be noticed even on the surface. The fact is that the water of this biome is very dark and clearly distinct from water peculiar to the vanilla underwater biomes. So after you plunge into such water, you can notice that almost nothing is visible there. You will see only a short distance of 5–6 blocks. So you stock up on a night vision potion to be able to see at longer distances and properly explore the relief and the biome's inhabitants.

Biome's Features

The relief of the deep ocean dunes is not as usual as at the bottom of other underwater biomes. There is no dirt here at all, and sand is not so frequently found. Its bottom basically consists of gravel, andesite, granite, diorite, and sand. However,  it most often consists of the deep sand. It is a new block that will appear after installing the mod. You will also be able to craft sandstone and other types of blocks from it.

New Vegetation

There is not much vanilla vegetation there — you can only find certain varieties of dead corals, as well as the seagrass in rare cases. One of the new plants that grow in the deep ocean biome is the giant tube worm, which can be three-block tall. However, you can come across the one-, two-, or three-block plants. It can be used only as a decorative block. Besides, the glowing anemone grows there, which provides very dim lighting of the deep bottom. It is also a decorative block.

Hydrothermal Vent

It is a new block also generated in the deep ocean dunes near other such blocks. Magma is always located under it. This is done so that a hydrothermal vent emits a stream of bubbles to the surface of the water. It is also a block that decorates the underwater world.

Local Fauna

One of the main features of this mod is a wide variety of new underwater creatures. In total, you can meet ten new inhabitants of the deep ocean dunes. One of them is called the isopod and has only two health points. It is a friendly mob both towards the player and other creatures. It can be found at the very bottom.

Squat Lobster

It usually lives in warm reservoirs closer to the shore to be able to get out and sit on the warm sand. It is a friendly mob that will not attack you even if you hit it. However, in the latter case, it will start running away very quickly to hide from you. So if you attacked a lobster on the shore, it will most likely immediately run into the water, and you will not find it again. The lobsters come in several varieties that differ in color.

Giant Spider Crab

The giant spider crab is a no less interesting creature. It is about the same size as the vanilla spider, although thanks to its legs, it will seem a bit taller and bigger, even given that its body is very small. Even though it may seem like a hostile mob, it will not touch you, even if you decide to attack it first. It has sixteen health points.

Other Deep Ocean Creatures

The new mobs include the deep-sea fish, sharks, mudskipper, coelacanth, and anglerfish. The sharks come in different colors but have roughly identical sizes. Surprisingly, the shark from this mod will not touch the player, even if you hit it.
