The Nyf's Spiders mod changes the spiders’ standard mechanics in the game and makes them more realistic, so they will be able to climb different surfaces, including the ceiling, will get better AI, and will always be able to get to the character, no matter what situation they find themselves in (inside a tree, in foliage, in a pit, on the ceiling, and so on). This not only makes Minecraft more realistic, but also adds problems to any player, because now, the spiders will get to Steve faster to kill him. If you thought that it wasn’t realistic and difficult enough, then you definitely need to install this add-on to feel all the «pain» when fighting these smart mobs. The mechanics of the spiders’ behavior have become different. They can think, analyze, and always find the player, no matter in which corner of the world he hides. And if a spider gets stuck somewhere or doesn’t spawn properly, it will still be able to get out.

There are two types of spiders in Minecraft: regular species and cave ones. From now on, standard spiders will appear not only somewhere in a Minecraft field, but on trees as well. And here they most often hide in foliage or on a tree trunk. If you pass by, a spider will quickly get down and start attacking you, but sometimes, it can sit and wait. Even in the daytime, a mob sitting in foliage is hard to see, which is really cool. The mechanics are changing before our eyes, as is the standard Minecraft gameplay. In this mod, standard spiders will belong to the «forest» species, as they often hide in foliage. This is normal mechanics. They suddenly fall down, and it’s extremely difficult to see a spider in such a thicket at night. As you know, moving around a jungle biome at night is a sure death for the player if you don’t have potions for quick health or hunger recovery, as well as good armor. Cave spiders will cling to walls; they can hang on the ceiling and any other surfaces. That is, they can easily attach themselves to a side wall and climb up, instead of behaving like in the vanilla version (when the mob just goes up as if on an elevator).

The mechanics have significantly changed, which is a great merit of the developer of Nyf's Spiders. He’s created a cool mod that also has given these creatures the ability to weave cobwebs. They can make a cobweb anywhere (they could do it in treasures only by default) to slow down the player a little. At the same time, the creature moves just as quickly inside the block. Now every biome will be a challenge for you, especially at night. If you want to collect resources or loot the entire treasuries with numerous spiders being spawned by spawners, then this mission can be called absolutely «impossible» without thorough preparation.

To take less damage, try to avoid the cobwebs in Nyf's Spiders, otherwise the creatures will simply kill you. Unlike the vanilla version of the game where you could easily stand on a block and hide there, now it won’t be easy to run away from the spiders. They are by times smarter, faster, can find you anywhere, weave cobwebs, and move on any surface. But this makes Minecraft even more interesting to play, and it’s very strange that the Mojang developers hadn’t added this system then they added the mobs themselves. In fact, Minecraft has long been lacking such mechanics.

In general, we can say that these are all functions added by the Nyf's Spiders mod. The developer keeps adding certain functions and improving the spider behavior, both of ordinary and cave ones. It may partially work with other mods, but it needs testing. For example, dozens of third-party add-ons have been created for the game of Minecraft, introducing similar types of spiders, but their mechanics may differ and avoid changes introduced by the Nyf's Spiders mod.
