Nether's Exoticism is a small mod that diversifies the Nether by adding new content to it, including new blocks, plants, and objects.
There will now be trees even in the Nether, as this mod adds a very beautiful Rambutan tree. It has pink foliage. Rambutan fruits grow on these trees. These trees mainly grow in the Nether Wastes. They usually form a forest, so you can notice a lot of such trees at once. By breaking the foliage blocks of these trees, you will have a chance of getting rambutan saplings. This tree grows exclusively on the netherrack and cannot be planted in the dirt.
Having obtained rambutan wood, you can use it as the vanilla wood. Indeed, you can craft standard objects and blocks of it, including steps, sticks, slabs, gates, and other things related to wood. The rambutan door will not have the usual appearance, though.
To get rambutan fruits, it will be enough just to cut them down from the trees. They have both beneficial and negative effects. They are edible, but you should keep in mind that the rambutan fruit is very prickly and will therefore deprive you of half or one heart when eaten. To compensate for this, the rambutan fruit imposes the Regeneration II effect for ten seconds, which allows you to restore all your health.
On the other hand, its prickly properties can come in handy because you can craft several useful items from it. One of them is the rambutan carpet. It can boast a very beautiful appearance, and rambutan needles are visible on it. Anyone who steps on this carpet will take damage. You can use it for your own purposes, say, to kill hostile mobs. This carpet is crafted from two rambutan fruits.
Another item that can be crafted from this fruit is the rambutan shield. To create it, you will need five fruits. It has a square shape, and any mob that will be very close to you will receive one damage point and sometimes lose a whole heart. Moreover, when the shield is in the defensive position and you are attacked by a mob, it will not gradually break.
The rambutan helmet has similar features: it protects you and also inflicts damage to creatures that attacks you. However, it has a very weak armor value of just two points.
So that this fruit gives you the Regeneration II effect, you need to make the rambutan juice. Indeed, you will not be able to eat the fruit when you are full. This juice is made from a rambutan fruit and a glass bottle. Its salient feature lies in the fact that it can be drunk very quickly compared to the potions. But keep in mind that even the juice will deprive you of one health point. However, this is not critical, as the juice's effect will regenerate your health.
For more convenient storage of rambutan fruits, you can craft a block from them. You will need nine fruits for this. To get the fruits back, it will be enough just to use the crafting table again.
To find the new Kiwano shrub, you need to visit the warped forest biome. It is sometimes difficult to notice it, as it merges with the trees of this forest. Its fruits have a very unpleasant effect when eaten. They will replenish you 0.5 hunger points but impose the Poison effect for four seconds. There is one advantage of all this — it will give you the Fire Resistance effect for 30 seconds.
After you have eaten this fruit, you will see a peel in your inventory. It also has a very useful application. You can craft kiwano armor, along with the sword and tools, from it. In terms of characteristics, these items are not inferior to the iron ones, and the leggings are almost like the diamond ones. All of them are crafted in the usual way. This armor can boast one useful feature. When you are in lava or fire and then get out on solid groud, you will immediately extinguish. The tools will have the smelting capacity. That is, when you mine ore, say, iron, you will immediately get an iron ingot. And if you extract wood with the kiwano axe, it will drop charcoal. The kiwano pickaxe can even be used to mine obsidian.
The kiwano bag is crafted from eight peels and a chest. You can use it to store and carry any items. It has 18 cells, which is less than in a chest, but you can create several bags at once and store them in your inventory.
For more convenient storage of kiwano fruits, you can craft a block from them. You will need nine fruits for this. To get the fruits back, just use the crafting table again.
You can also make the kiwano juice. It is just like the usual fruit in terms of effect, but you can drink it fast. It imposes the very same Fire Resistance and Poisoning effects.
A more useful meal is the salad. To make it, you need a pitaya, a kiwano, warped roots, two sugar, rambutan juice, and a bowl. This salad is very nourishing. Besides, it will impose three effects peculiar to these fruits at once. However, they will be much more lasting. Thus, the Wither Cure effect will last one minute. The Fire Resistance will also last for a minute. However, the Regeneration effect will last only ten seconds as before.
A new fruit called pitaya can be found in the crimson forest biome. It will grow on special stems, which are very similar to a cactus. If you get too close to this stem, you will take damage. Breaking the stems without the silk touch enchantment, you will get a pitaya sapling, which you can later plant to grow this wonderful fruit. To stimulate its growth, you can use the bone meal. After you get the stem, you can smelt it in a furnace to obtain the turquoise dye.
The pitaya fruit will be very useful when you travel across the Nether. Thus, if you encounter a wither skeleton, you will get the Wither effect after being hit by it. To get rid of this negative effect as soon as possible, it will be enough just to eat a pitaya fruit.
You can also make the pitaya juice. It will give the very same effects; namely, it will restore hunger points and protect against withering. This juice is made from the fruit and an empty glass bottle.
For more convenient storage of the pitaya fruits, you can craft a block from the. For this, you will need nine fruits. To get the fruits back, it will be enough just to use the crafting table again.
