Review Natural Additions

Natural Additions – New mobs and plants

There are plenty of different biomes in Minecraft, and the Mojang developers add even more of them with every update. However, what they lack are themed mobs and plants that could appear there. For example, you could find one or more plant species and see peculiar mobs in a particular biome, and so on. Interesting, right? The game has this kind of mechanics, but it’s rather rare. But we can fix it by installing the Natural Additions mod. This mod will actually add a few unique mobs to the game, which will appear in particular biomes. They’ll also be adapted to the biome conditions and appearance, so, sometimes they may even be «mimicking».

The system adds a few cool, well-drawn, and detailed mobs into the game, for example, for the desert, the lush caves, and a few other vanilla biomes in the game to complement the game, no matter what part of the game world you are currently in. If you’ve been lacking new creatures in Minecraft for a long time, then this mod is the perfect solution to this issue.

The Natural Additions mod review

Lush caves, deserts, some of «minor locations» in Minecraft have always needed upgrades, since the Mojang developers have added biomes, but at the same time totally forgot about any creatures in them. And it was the Natural Additions mod creator who decided to fix it. If you want to change and complement vanilla Minecraft, we highly recommend installing this mod. In it, interesting and colorful mobs will appear, which will not only «refresh» biomes, but will also give some extra loot after death. We’ve done our best to review most of the creatures added in the Natural Additions mod.

Changes for the Lush Caves

A Lushling – a small shy mob in the game that appears in the lush caves of Minecraft and runs away as soon as the player tries to strike it. It’s characterized by a unique green look and fits perfectly into the general biome style. Sometimes, it may even be mimicking the general environment, and you won’t notice these mobs.

The Clay Trader Lushling – is another representative of the lush cave mobs that looks similar to the previous one. The only difference is that the traders are ready to exchange with you. Accepts copper coins for clay balls as goods.

The Dripleave Trader Lushling – the mod adds a few merchants to the game, and this is the second option. They are ready to exchange copper coins for droppers or small droppers, which you can also easily find in the game.

The Mayor Lushling – a unique mob in the game that can become a mayor if you right-click on it using a copper amulet. If you strike the creature, the Ancient Copper Golem will appear next to the mob that will help the Mayor Lushling defend itself. Use copper coins to right-click on the mob to improve relations with it.

Ancient Copper Golem – is actually that very representative of the Copper Golems summoned by the Mayors. They will protect the Lushlings from the players’ and other creatures’ attacks, and if you try to attack them, the Golem will immediately become aggressive.

These are all mobs added to the Lush Caves, which will immediately give you a more diverse gameplay and survival principle. From now on, you’ll be able to interact with numerous new creatures, exchange coins, get a variety of resources, and just visit these biomes more often. Generally speaking, the Lush Caves are quite a rare game location, and often you have to use every possible means available in Minecraft to find them. Now, any of you can find the caves faster, since these mobs will spawn nearby.

In addition to the listed creatures, moss balls and copper coins have also been added to Minecraft that you need to trade with mobs. Now it’s time to move on to the list of changes that relate to the desert in the game only, because this biome covers a wide area in any map generation …

Changes for the Deserts

Desert Bandit– is a unique mob in the game that attacks villagers and players in small groups. On average, each group consists of 3 to 6 mobs, which looks really cool. If you meet such kind of mob, get ready to serious resistance…

The Dust Lizard – is a small creature from the reptile category. You can use the Dwarf Cacti to breed them. It somewhat resembles the Silverfish, but it’s of a bright light color and strongly mimicking sand. If a pack of these creatures attacks a player, you can lose all your loot in the desert.

The Dwarf Cactus – is a new plant in the game of Minecraft, which you can find in the desert only. You can eat it, use its seeds for planting and breeding, and also feed lizards with the plant.

The Weathered Sandstone – is a specific kind of sandstone in the game world, which you can find among stones in the desert. These blocks will be in high demand, especially on the server.

The Staff – a new weapon in the game, which causes 1 heart damage. With some probability, it stuns the enemy for a short period of time (it loses track of you, slows down, and will be blinded), with you actually knocking it out with this item at the moment.

Other changes

Besides the Desert and the Lush Caves, there’s a little more of new content, scattered across other biomes, will be added to Minecraft.

Pelt Hunter – is a mob with a very interesting name. This is an evil robber who will hunt animals for their pelts. It can spawn in different biomes, but most often it appears in clearings and meadows.

Raccoon Dog – is a cool animal option in Minecraft, which is friendly to the player and everyone around by default. You can tame it using the Golden Cod (crafted similar to the Golden Apple).

Attention! If you tame the Raccoon Dogs, be ready for the fact that the Pelt Hunters will attack these animals, and if you take the dog with you, the mobs will probably start hunting for your pet right away.

All these mechanics and novelties improve the game world and complement it. Now, those biomes that used to lack content will get a lot of different animals, mobs, trading opportunities, and new golems that are so demanded and popular in Minecraft. At the same time, all the content is as close to the vanilla game style as possible, and in no way unbalances the gameplay. If you like this approach, download the Natural Additions mod and use all the advantages of this add-on. From time to time, the developers update and supplement their product, release updates, and do their best to adapt it to new Minecraft versions as quickly as possible.

Currently, the Natural Additions mod can’t boast of many downloads, but this is one of the few options of the Minecraft mods, which makes it possible to quickly inhabit biomes and complement them, because the lush caves don’t enjoy much of the mod creating enthusiasts’ attention. You can use the Natural Additions mod not only in single-player mode, but on a server as well, which makes this mod even more interesting, including as part of large-scale projects.
