The Mojang developers test many different ideas and hold a general vote for users to choose which content will be included in the next release of the new version of Minecraft. In 2023, there was a crab – a nice cute mob that many users like, but it didn’t receive the required number of votes and, respectively, it didn’t get into the release. But if you wanted to add this creature to the game but didn’t have such opportunity before, now, you just need to download the Mobvote 2023 – Crab mod into your build and get new content for Minecraft…

This is far from the only mod for Minecraft that allows you to add content previously shown at exhibitions or voting in a couple of clicks. Thanks to enthusiastic developers, almost all the ideas that have ever appeared in the information field are somehow transformed into separate mods, and Mobvote 2023 – Crab was no exception. However, it already stands out against its competitors with the number of downloads, which has already exceeded 150 thousand! You have a great opportunity to add a unique and nice mob to the game, and at the same time Mobvote 2023 ‐ Crab is already available for Minecraft 1.21.

We’ve done our best to collect the most up-to-date information about the new mob available today:

· The mob attacks the player if you start beating it, so be careful and always carry a weapon;

· The crab has about a 25% chance of dropping its pincers when the player attacks the mob;

· The crabs recover their pincers in about 5-10 minutes, which is a unique gameplay for Minecraft, where any player can create full-fledged mob farms;

· The main feature of the crab pincers is that the player will be able to put, remove or strike 4 blocks further in the game. The strength decreases at the same time, but the new option significantly expands the builders’ and miners’ capabilities;

· If you have nothing to eat, you can cook a crab pincer, which will become an additional source of food for you;

· The crabs can climb blocks in Minecraft, so be sure to take this aspect into account when building new crab farms. And if you try to hide from the mob by climbing blocks, you should know that this solution won’t help you;

· You can find the crabs in the mangrove swamp biome, and this is the main biome where they live;

· The mod is available for the Fabric and Forge loaders, which is now rare among many add-ons developed and maintained by developers;

· The player can breed crabs using sea grass if they want. With this mechanics, you’ll have a lot of crabs, giving you a certain drop.

The crab’s appearance is detailed, although the player needs to closely approach it to examine the mob. Which is a problem, since they move quickly and can simply run away from you. Many of these creatures spawn in mangrove swamps, but not in all locations, so, you’ll have to look for them. They stand out with their bluish hue, so you can see these mobs immediately, whether from the air when flying on Elytras or when exploring the location on the ground. The crabs can wave their arms, which looks cool. The developer has come up with a really cool animation for them, which you’ll remember from the first minutes of the game. Also, don’t forget that you can feed them with sea grass and breed.

As soon as the crab drops a pincer, you can pick it up, but the creature doesn’t necessarily die at that time. As we’ve already said, they can drop pincers with a 25% probability, and their pincer grows again after about 5-10 minutes. You can use this artifact in Minecraft to put different blocks faster in the game world, which is very convenient: for example, you can now put 4 blocks further, being at the same point. This helps when building walls or moving at high altitude. Another feature that you’ll find useful – you can use your hand to break further blocks in the mines, and if lava accidentally pours, you’ll have more time to «jump off» from there.

In general, the Mobvote 2023 mod adds a pleasant and colorful creature. And considering the fact that we saw this crab at the Minecoin voting, you’ll feel like trying to play with such an add-on even more. The developer keeps adding new mechanics, correcting bugs and listening to the audience, so if you’ve read our review, be sure to try this mod in your build. By the way, it also adds a summoning egg, and users who have an administrative mode will be able to get it in one click and spawn a crab in any biome. We recommend installing JEI, which is a separate mod for full access to all content and items added by third-party add-ons.
