Mobs Live 2023 – add all the mobs from the Minecraft voting!

Players are persistent hinting to the developers that they aren’t satisfied with the system of choosing one mob out of three. But no matter how hard the former try, nothing has changed so far. However, don’t worry that you won’t see all the presented creatures in the game, because our dear mod creators always go a step ahead of Minecraft. Now, if you want to evaluate the animals from the voting 2023, you just need to download and install the Mobs Live 2023 mod.

The work is indeed really small and, frankly speaking, a bit ticky-tacky. Although the author has done his best to transfer all the presented mobs into the game, he totally ignored the implementation of the key features – their capabilities. We’ll talk about it further. And the models are far from looking great; although the colors are well chosen, but their diversity leaves much to be desired.

The Mobs Live 2023 mod review

There are actually only three mobs added; namely a Penguin, a Crab, and an Armadillo. To date, we already know that the latter has won the voting. But let’s start with the Penguin.

There are two types of them: Big penguin and Baby penguin. The only difference is size, but the texture is completely identical. The model was created with three-dimensional graphics, which significantly stands out from the usual Minecraft style. Although the Penguin looks the best among all the presented creatures. If you decide to install the mod to survive in your world, then you can find these mobs in the rocky shore biome. A very poor movement animation should be mentioned, as the penguin seems to glide on ordinary ground, which is completely wrong.

Crab

This mob looks like this very poorly drawn texture. Indeed, this is the Minecraft style, but from some trailers instead of a real-game one. If you want to know how the Crab moves, you’ll be disappointed, since everyone knows that they walk sideways, which fact was apparently ignored in the mod. And there doesn’t seem to be any animation. In general, it looks terrible.

It appears in Mangrove swamps and drops its claw when you feed it, which, according to Mojang developers’ idea, was supposed to increase the player’s construction range. However, this was also ignored here, or the author simply failed implement this idea.

Armadillo

This mob also looks more like the version from a trailer, because it seems to be just drawn in Paint’е. Looks like the author was in a hurry to release his work as soon as possible to catch up with his competitors. So much that the quality has significantly suffered. In the world, it appears in the Savannah biome.

After killing it, you’ll get a armadillo shell, which was supposed to be used for crafting a dog armor. This was described on the Minecon. But this was a complete failure as well, as the author simply can’t do such things. Of course, it’s understandable, but we want a working mod badly.

This is the end of our short review. We’d like to say that the author has tried his best when doing his work, but we can’t. The textures drawn in a few minutes and the animations immediately give out the developer’s attitude to his project. In addition, the items lack the functions intended by Mojang. However, it’ll do as a small mod that will just diversify your survival in the Minecraft world. The main thing is not to have inflated expectations from it.
