You don’t like vanilla biomes and feel like changing them somehow to make the world more enjoyable to play in? We offer you to use the special Good Ending add-on, which was created to improve the vanilla world. In general, the mod changes vanilla biomes without using new blocks. But still, the mod adds new content to diversify the gameplay a little bit. But these innovations won’t make the game different but only a bit more interesting. There isn’t much new content here; the player can visit new biomes, special structures, as well as use new blocks. Another important detail is new plants, which will also be generated in vanilla biomes. Currently, the mod can be installed on the game version 1.19.2, both on Forge and Fabric.

Modified biomes of the vanilla world

According to the author, the main biome that really needs changes is the dark forest. After installing the mod, this game location will become more interesting to explore, because it will get unique features that no other vanilla biomes have. The main change is the dark tree structure, which is completely different now. The tree trunk has got a different shape, additional blocks have been added in the lower part, which look like roots. There are also additional logs in the upper part that form branches. Another equally important change is a new block used to create a surface. Now, in this biome rocky earth is generated instead of the grass block, which gives this biome a unique atmosphere. Another block also used in this biome is the Podzol. It’s easier to travel in the dark forest now, because it has become more spacious. You can also find stone boulders here.

Another biome that has also been significantly changed is the birch forestwith. This location is perceived in a completely different way. Now, you can enjoy traveling through the biome. More open space has been added to the birch forest, since the structure of the trees have been changed. The birch has become a very tall tree, with much fewer leaves set out in a different way, which opens up a better view. Bee nests will be generated more often in the birch forest than they used to. And there is much more vegetation in the biome, so, in general the entire biome is very bright and saturated with green colors.

The swamp biome has got even more changes . The author has changed almost everything in these locations. The first change is the landscape. The author revised the vanilla swamp landscape and decided to add his own idea of this location. From now on, there are even more water spaces here, which cover a large part of the biome. Besides, they don’t look the same as in the vanilla, that is, they consist of many small water spaces instead of 1 reservoir.

The vanilla-type oak trees are no longer generated in the swamps. Trees from the mod are used instead of them. One of them is the muddy oak, which differs from the vanilla one in color. It got a greenish shade, which is perfectly matches this biome. Another tree is the cypress, but it isn’t often generated; the main space is taken by the muddy oak. New plant species are used in the swamps, which we’ll look at later. You can also use new trees to create boards and then use them for construction purposes or to craft other types of blocks, such as steps, fences, and doors.

New mobs

The mod adds 3 new creatures to the game that can be generated in all biomes of the world. They are used to diversify the world. These mobs will really make biomes even more comfortable; you will hear new sounds that will immerse the user in the gameplay. The first mob is the swarm of fireflies, which you can find at nighttime. The fireflies are very small, pixel-size creatures. There are a lot of them, so they are clearly seen, but you can’t hit them at all. The second mob is the woodpecker, which mainly lives in forests and makes sounds like pecking at the tree bark from time to time, which sounds very realistic. The woodpecker has only 6 health points, and you can get feathers when you kill it; there’s no new drop here. Another mob lives in the swamps, it has 16 health point and it makes frightening sounds, although it’s a friendly creature.

You can take the fireflies, for which you need an empty glass bottle. Hover over the swarm of fireflies and right-click on them. Next, you can use them to craft a unique lantern; additionally you’ll need to use iron pieces. This lantern is unique due to the fact that there will be fireflies inside it, and there is animation here.

New plants grow all over the world. Mostly, these are flowers, there are even water lilies and lilies that will grow in swamps. In general, new plants are really appropriate, because they are vanilla-style ones.

A new structure

While traveling around the swamps, the player may find a new structure – the updated swamp hut. Yes, it’s the witch’s new house, which is created in a very beautiful style. The roof is hat-shaped, and there is a hut on special legs under it. These huts will become a home for witches, but the most important thing is that several witches can live in one building at once, which makes the location hard to explore. There are many valuable things inside the hut, so be sure to visit it.
