At least, it should be armor to protect against mobs, more food and potions to restore health, torches or charcoal and wood to craft additional light sources at any time. The situation is familiar, isn’t it? Experience has proven that players can often run out of torches at the worst possible moment, and sometimes you can just forget to take them, having to resort to some non-standard way: collect and pour lava, collect previously installed torches, break wooden structures, disassemble them into sticks, and craft new torches…

We suggest another option: completely refuse this mechanics and install the Glowing Tools add-on, which adds completely new types of tools to Minecraft. They will glow without any torches. That is, you’ll be able to easily work in the mine without taking any lighting devices, since the light from the tools is quite enough for basic tasks. This not only saves your resources, but also time to install or collect torches. As a result, the miners’ standard mechanics in Minecraft will change a little, which is a great advantage of this mod.

Now, you won’t have to remove shields or change hands every time to install torches, you won’t need to carry light sources or all the necessary materials all the time. You just need to craft the required item only once and add a torch to it, and then you can use it in any mine and immediately illuminate the area. For example, we have a standard or even an enchanted pickaxe from Minecraft. You just add a torch to it, and then you go down the mine to extract resources. The surrounding area will be illuminated as long as this item is in your active slot, and you won’t need to install torches.

At the beginning of the article it’s said that this is a mod that adds glowing tools, however, the Glowing Tools mod changes all types of swords as well, so you can fight mobs even if you accidentally fell into a dark cave or found yourself in some poorly lit place. You just need to pull out your sword equipped with a torch, and it will automatically illuminate the whole place. The lighting level is about the same as provided by a regular torch, and the developer took this aspect into account: the angle will always change, depending on how you work with a pickaxe or other tool. For example, as soon as a player approaches a place, it is better lit, and if he moves away, the lighting becomes duller. If you hide the pickaxe, it will get conpletely dark!

Each tool will have a displayed source (torch), for example, on the handle or any other part. Tools usually have it somewhere on the end, and weapons have it at the base. But it looks very beautiful and by times more colorful compared to vanilla textures, although we don’t see any global changes here! Lighting works in almost any biome, dimension, and everything is displayed correctly there even if you install third-party mods. But you can only add torches to vanilla tools. If you install some third-party mods with weapons and tools, they will have to do without lighting.

In general, we can say that the developer of the Glowing Tools add-on has invented a unique and interesting technology to save players’ resources, time, and make it easier to stay in the mines as well. You won’t have to worry about whether you brought a torch or all the necessary ingredients every time. Even if the player accidentally gets into some dark place, he will immediately be able to see what is here and fight back, holding a pickaxe or sword in his hands. However, you will still have to take torches to treasuries, as you’ll need to install this item on the mob spawner, otherwise they will keep spawning for ages.

To craft a glowing item, you need to put it in a workbench and add a regular torch to the craft. As a result, you’ll get a new item. They can also be enchanted with all the standard Minecraft effects, for example, efficiency or luck. As a result, you get an even more versatile pickaxe or sword, which you can use to quickly extract resources or fight mobs back. At the same time, you’ll still have a light source! By the way, we’ve already talked about the MageFlame add-on, which offers several torches that always follow the player. This is another alternative lighting option in Minecraft, requiring no additional actions from the player.

It’s also important to know that any items crafted in the Glowing Tools mod can be improved with the blacksmith’s table and get effects from both the vanilla version of Minecraft and from third-party add-ons, if they provide such functions. But that’s not all! If you have read this paragraph, you should know a little secret of the Glowing Tools mod: the player can improve any tool or pickaxe without using a workbench. You just need to approach a torch installed on the floor, hold down the Shift key, holding the tool in the active slot, and it will turn into a glowing version, transferring the torch inside itself!
