Review Frozen Up

Frozen UP is a small mod in the vanilla style, which diversifies the game with new elements. Thus, it will add a cute fluffy reptile called the chilloo. This tameable mob spawns in groups in snowy biomes and can dig up carrots, potatoes, and frozen truffles. You can tame a chilloo with a frozen truffle or take it and put it in the furnace to defrost it and make a muffin or cake from it. Besides, this mod supplements the snow biomes with some additions.

New Mob

Chilloo is a fluffy reptile that will spawn in winter biomes. It has a simple texture and is completely friendly. So it will not attack you even if you hit it — it will just run away. Its main feature, though, is that it can dig out any in-game vegetables from under the snow lying on blocks of dirt or grass. And you will indeed see how a chilloo is digging snow and getting a random vegetable. So you should watch them carefully when they dig out some stuff from under the snow so as not to miss the result.

So these creatures, despite their rarity, prove to be extremely useful for farmers or just for players who need a free source of food. However, the most valuable thing they can drop is the frozen truffle. With its help, you can tame a chilloo. After that, red stripes will appear on its tail, which are not peculiar to the wild chilloos. If you click the RMB on it, you will make it sit. It will be possible to dress tamed chilloos in sweaters. To do this, it will be enough to get any dyed block of wool. Each sweater will have a unique texture with interesting patterns. However, a chilloo cannot extract food while sitting. You can redress it at any moment. By clicking on the sweater with shears, you can return the dyed wool block of the same color back. Besides, a tamed chilloo follows the player and, if the player moves far away, can teleport to them.

Frozen Truffle

The frozen truffle serves not only to tame chilloos. By defrosting it in the furnace, it can be turned into the ordinary truffle. After that, it will be possible to make new types of food from it.

The truffle cake can boast a nice appearance. When you eat it, you will see its layers, which is beautiful on its own.

Mug of Milk

The mug with milk works the same way as the milk bucket. You can also improve it to one of the two types of chocolate milk by combining it with cocoa beans. After you drink it, the Regeneration and Speed II effects will be imposed on you for a short time.

But if you improve the mug by adding a defrosted truffle to it, you can get the mug of truffle hot chocolate. It will give you the Regeneration effect for twenty seconds.

The truffle can be obtained by defrosting the frozen truffle in the furnace.

A New Item

The empty mug is crafted very simply: you will need five vanilla bricks. Besides, it can be filled with milk when crafting.

There is another cool item added by this mod dropped by the chilloo after death. Most often, you will get only one such item, but more can also be dropped. It is the chilloo feather, from which you can craft beautiful blocks that resembles the cobblestone. It will also be possible to create carpets from them in the same way as you make the ordinary sheep wool ones.

You can also craft the chilloo feather lamp. You will be able to turn them on or off by clicking the RMB without using the redstone. They are beautifully combined with the chilloo feather blocks. The redstone does not affect this lamp in any way.
