Review Enchantment Descriptions

Enchantment Descriptions

If you have ever had to enchant items in Minecraft, you know that that is not an easy task, and you often have to spend a lot of time to achieve the desired result. Thus, to get a sword with seven enchantments, you need to learn each type and understand which ones are better to apply first and which ones at the end for experience points to suffice. Most beginners who just started their journey in Minecraft face such problems. But they are numerous, not to mention that even avid players do not immediately grasp this process and do not know all the effects and their features. What to do in such a situation?

The developers of a mod called Enchantment Descriptions have already thought everything out for you. It allows anyone to get information about enchantments in Minecraft and understand what they are for, how they affect a particular item to which they can be applied, and much more. So you will not have to go to the Internet to read Wikipedia or other resources anymore, as all the information is now on your screen: you just hover the cursor over a book or an item and get a description. That is extremely convenient not only for English-speaking users but also for others because this mod has been translated into thirteen languages.

Review of the Enchantment Descriptions Mod

By default, there are no hints related to enchantments in Minecraft while viewing them when they are applied to a particular item, in the list of books, as various effects from loot picked up from other players, or just individually. The description basically comes down to a name and level, and the player has to determine what that means. Moreover, new effects are being occasionally added to Minecraft, say, for the trident and other items, and you do not always immediately understand what they are for and what they can be combined with.

The main advantage of the Enchantment Descriptions mod is automatic tooltips. This means that it will be enough for you to hover the mouse cursor over a particular in-game item, and the system will immediately show a brief description of it and the applied enchantments. Thus, if we take, say, Fire Resistance, you will be told that it protects against lava and fire and be shown the level of protection and some other important information. So even if you have started playing Minecraft only recently, you will immediately understand that Protection applied to armor is mainly from mobs and players, whereas Fire Resistance means that armor will show its best when you are in the Nether, even if you fall into the lava.

There are many such examples, especially related to weapons and armor, as they have different characteristics, and it is difficult for the player to get immediately used to all this. The Minecraft developers have begun to introduce tooltips in the new versions of the game but, unfortunately, have not yet implemented them for enchantments, so players have to learn everything on their own, and it is in this regard that the Enchantment Descriptions mod still remains relevant. Thus, at the time of writing this review, it had almost 63 million downloads and was constantly updated by the dedicated developer.

These are basically all the innovations that will be available to you after installing the Enchantment Descriptions mod. You will be able to see the tooltips in any GUI, no matter where the enchanted item is, be it an anvil, an enchantment table, creative mode, the inventory, JEI-like mods, etc. The information is displayed automatically and does not require any additional actions from the player. The only drawback is the support of only the vanilla version of Minecraft, although a huge number of mods have already been released for this game, adding different types of enchantments and effects, which have become many times more numerous than they initially were.

So it is a great mod for beginners and those who do not want to go online once more to read the description some effect. Everything is already on your screen in the form of a brief description without redundant information. It is quite enough to understand what each enchantment type is for, so the Enchantment Descriptions mod copes with its task perfectly. Even though the mod was released in 2016, it can boast much more downloads than many other popular add-ons released earlier. This suggests that such options should always be in the build of any Minecraft player, especially a beginner.
