It is a mod that makes the player's interaction with the vanilla dogs more diverse. Thus, you will now be able not only to tame a dog and make it follow you but also develop its skills, train it, take care of it, and even play simple games with it. Besides, all the dogs will acquire several new cute animations: they will be able to lie on their backs, stretch funny, and jump for joy.

Taming and Training

To begin with, you need to tame any vanilla wolf. Then, you will need to stock up on dog food that helps train and develop your dog.

The mod adds four special training bones: the training treat, super treat, master treat, and dire treat, each of which is more advanced than the previous one. You will have to feed them to the dog if you want to get great results from it. Besides, each bone type adds more and more health points to the dog. Your pet will thus eventually have 30 hearts and will become an excellent helper in battles.

Besides, the mod adds two special bones.

You should give the breeding bone to your tamed and trained dogs if you want to get a puppy.

The bone of amnesia is needed so that your pet forgets you and your lessons. After you use this bone, the pet will turn into a wild wolf and run away from you.

Another dog treat, the egg sandwich, is not suitable for training but still will be very useful to you in adventures. It is virtually a quite satiating foodstuff, but it also imposes the Regeneration II effect. So you can eat it yourself or feed your dog when its health level becomes critical.

For training and simply a more convenient interaction with your pet, you will also need the following items: the whistle, radio collar, and tracker.

The radio collar is put on a dog. With its help, you will always know exactly where your pet is. It is especially important for those who constantly lose companions during adventures.

The tracker shows you the coordinates of your pet if you happen to lose it or teleports you to it if you are close enough to each other.

The whistle helps you to call the dog and train it to sit and stand up.

To start training a dog, you need to open its GUI. To do this, pick up an ordinary stick dropped by trees and click the RMB on the dog while holding it. The large and colorful GUI will show you your pet's characteristics, a list of its talents, its appearance, accessories, and all the current achievements.

To level its talents, go to the Talents menu and learn them. The list is quite large and interesting, but you will not be able to develop everything, as you will need a large number of experience points to upgrade each skill to the max. So, as in any game with skill trees, you should choose wisely.

Useful Blocks

The mod also adds useful blocks for interacting with the pets.

Dog Bed. You will be able to craft your pet its own bed. It will be able to sit, sleep, and also be respawn on it if something terrible happens and enemies kill it. Like the player, the dog must be related to its bed.

Food Bowl. It is a useful block where you can put a certain amount of food and no longer worry about your pet being hungry.

Dog Bath. You can presumably bathe a dog in it. However, it is, in fact, more of a decorative block, as the dogs refuse to go inside.

You can use two special bones if you wish to change the appearance of your pet. Indeed, it is not particularly fair that all the Minecraft dogs look the same. So if you want a really big or very small dog, you can craft these bones and... well, shrink or enlarge your dog.

For a less radical change of appearance, you can take advantage of a large set of clothes and accessories for your pet. Thus, you will be able to create blankets, suits, dresses, bow-ties, and sunglasses on the crafting table from the most ordinary wool and dyes.

You can play with your pet with a stick or a bone, which you need to throw for a dog to be able to bring it back to you. You should keep in mind, though, that after using the stick in this way, it will become wet, and your dog will be extremely reluctant to play with it.
