Critters & Cryptids

A mod that adds a broad variety of cryptids to the game – these are the creatures unknown to official science, fantastic and scary. Along with the creepy and dangerous new mobs, new weapons and armor have also been added to the game.

Book

You can craft a complete Book of Cryptids using yellow dye, a common book, and a workbench. It allows you to get a clear idea of whom you’ve actually come across.

Mobs

The aquatic cryptid world is mainly represented by plenty of new fish and crustaceans. They are peaceful, some are even delicious, with an extremely moderate drop, and a rather common look.

Sometimes, you’ll also come across strange creatures unknown to either science or cryptozoology, but don’t be afraid of them, since they are quite peaceful as well.

As for aggressive marine life, you may come across such cryptids as Giant Octopuses.

There is also a wide range of huge and aggressive sea monsters to choose from: here you’ll find both a giant anglerfish and a submarine fish.

On-shore cryptids can also boast with certain diversity. Alas, you won’t find absolutely peaceful ones among them, but there are non-aggressive or just weak ones.

Weak mobs – are those who pose almost no danger to the player. Their health level ranges from two to seven hearts. Here, you’ll meet strange mollusks, pseudo flower beds, horned toads, and even quite dangerous-looking, but extremely weak creatures that can teleport themselves.

Average mobs – are those mobs that have from seven to twenty hearts of health. They can already be called rather dangerous opponents, and it’s better to prepare before fighting them. Here, you’ll find crocodiles, ice cats, dinosaur-resembling creatures, and huge bats.

Strong mobs – are those whose health exceeds 20 hearts and attacks are extremely damaging for the player. Fortunately for the players, there aren’t many of such creatures – these are a flying whale, a huge jellyfish and legendary Chupacabra.

Weapons and armor

New mobs drop new items, which you can further use to craft armor, weapons, and other items.

Armor is represented by two breastplates, or rather, one protective vest and a jacket with a shirt. Both items are dropped by mobs, and their protection level leaves much to be desired. However, the protective vest allows the player to walk on water, which is quite useful in such worlds like the oceanic one.

Weapons here include large torpedoes, powerful cannons, and a rather average pistol. There is also one small knife with 4 damage points. All items are crafted using items dropped from mobs and vanilla parts.

Also, using new items you can craft two interesting bombs and new signal flares that are several times more powerful than the vanilla fireworks.

The mod adds a number of new blocks, which you can craft using mob parts, and a new ore with a still unknown purpose.

Food

The mod with a lot of new animals just can’t do without upgrading food. Seven new dishes will appear in the game, with some of them being quite strong, almost imbalance ones, but requiring cooking and quite rare ingredients. These include a Burger that gives as many as 5 hunger and 10 energy points and a Ghost soup with its 4 hunger and 6 energy points.
