Cherry Blossom Grotto

Cherry Blossom Grotto is a small mod that will add one elaborate Japanese-style biome to the game. Besides, it will add a new mob, structures, weapons, and items. Cherry Blossom Grotto is available for the 1.19.3, 1.18.2, and 1.16.5 game versions. For version 1.16.5 and higher, you will need to install an additional library called TerraBlender.

The Cherry Blossom Grotto Biome

The biome added by this mod generates relatively often and can be easily noticed even from afar. It is very bright thanks to the new cherry blossom tree with pinkish foliage. In the cherry blossom grotto, you can find Japanese-style lawns, which make this biome even more atmospheric. Its low vegetation is more diverse. You can see lilies of the valley, peonies, and alliums.

Since the cherry is blooming, it drops leaves. That is why the ground in this biome is completely covered with its heaps, which can sometimes hinder your fast movement. Besides, you will occasionally come across mossy cobblestone blocks. Due to the character of the biome, you will also often see bee hives and bees themselves.

Cherry Tree Logs

Cherry blossom logs can be turned into planks, which will have a red color. After that, you can craft various blocks from them, such as doors, fences, gates, buttons, boats, and so on. All of them will feature a similar reddish style. Besides, the doors and hatches have a familiar Japanese design.

New Structures

Three new structures generate in the cherry blossom grotto biome: the giant Buddha statue, torii gate, and ruined portal. The torii gate is a purely decorative structure, as it consists of only three blocks: blackstone, cherry tree planks, and a gold block. It is very frequently found in the cherry blossom grotto but can also occasionally appear in other biomes.

Giant Buddha Statue

Like the torii gate, the giant Buddha statue can be found in all biomes but is most often generated in the new biome. It is rarer, though, as you can find two chests with valuable resources added by the new mod there at once. One chest is right at the statue, and the second is inside. The latter is more valuable since it often contains a new weapon, namely the katana.

Koi

Koi is a new fish added by this mod. It can be seen in many reservoirs but mainly in the new biome. The koi has three health points and comes in three colors: red (the rarest), white-red, and white-brown. Like all ordinary fish, it can be carried in a water bucket. After death, the fish drops meat, which can then be fried to get a rich meal.

Weapons, Armor, and a Lantern

The last innovation to consider is related to weapons, armor, and a lantern that can also boast a truly Japanese design. The first weapon type you can find in the Buddha statue or craft yourself is the katana. It inflicts six damage points but has a reduced attack speed. It is created very simply: from two iron ingots and two petals that can be found among fallen leaves.

The second weapon is the shuriken. It is throwing and can be crafted from six iron nuggets. It can be thrown very quickly but inflicts only one damage point. If you don't hit the target, the shuriken will get stuck in a block and can be subsequently picked up.

The last weapon added by this mod is the kunai. It is more impressive because, unlike shurikens, it inflicts three damage points at once. It can serve as a throwing weapon or be used as a knife inflicting three damage points. However, the increased damage level is ensured by rarer ingredients. Thus, to create one kunai, you will need four iron nuggets and the tripwire hook.

The mod also adds two armor types to the game: ninja robes and kabuto. The former is almost completely black but protects much worse than the latter. The ninja robes are crafted using the black wool, leather, and iron nuggets. They are fully identical to the ordinary iron armor in terms of characteristics. The kabuto armor is created from iron and red dye, which makes its crafting more practical than that of the ordinary iron armor.

The last innovation to consider is a lantern made in Japanese style. There are two ways to craft it: from the cobblestone and a torch or from the cobblestone and a soul torch.
