Xenoclus 2: Bring More Ice to the Minecraft Game World

After installing a mod called Xenoclus 2, you will notice new ice arches in the Overworld. There is nothing remarkable about them, as they consist of ice blocks, dense ice, blue ice, and stone bricks. There is a chest right under the ice, which will be useful for the subsequent adventure.

Useful Loot

The chest contains various loot and the mysterious tooth. After you have cleaned nine such chests and thus collected nine mysterious teeth, you will be able to craft a special dust that will be needed to enter a portal.

New Portal

The portal is built of blue ice and strikingly resembles the Nether portal. Having built the entire structure, click the RMB on the portal while holding the above dust in your hand.

After you have passed through the portal, you will find yourself in an extremely beautiful and dangerous dimension, looking like the ice biomes. It is completely covered with ice crystals, spikes, and ruins.

New Biomes

The new dimension includes several biomes. The first is the floating glaciers, which consists entirely of the new ice blocks called necice. Unlike the ordinary ice, it can be dug and extracted with bare hands. But walking on these blocks, you will slide. So you should be careful enough not to fall into the dark abyss.

Besides, spikes are randomly scattered around this biome. They will pose a danger to you, as they will cause damage like a cactus. However, unlike the cactus, the spikes are not a solid block. By breaking them, you can extract their fragments for the subsequent making of ice cream.

The next biome is called sharded. You can see trees there, and the ground is covered with a new kind of dirt and the familiar spikes. There are also bushes growing there, which are analogous to the dead bushes. Breaking them, you can get sticks.

In the underground of this dimension, you can find stalactites. Destroying them, you can get fragments, with the help of which a special brush is crafted. You will be able to clean contaminated blocks with it, getting a small reward.

This biome features a new block, which is its distinctive feature. It is called thin necice. It looks like the ordinary necice but is slightly translucent, so other blocks can be seen through it. If you walk on such a block without holding the Shift button, it will start to break.

The next biome that can be found in this dimension is called the pale taiga. It looks like the ordinary taiga, except for its pallor and iciness. You will still see spikes that cause damage and other vegetation there.

The last biome to consider is the frosted field. It is actually not as frozen as the name suggests, as this biome is very rich in vegetation and fresh grass. Blue flowers also grow there, breaking which you can get the coalstem petal. Their only purpose is to serve as fuel for the furnace. You can smelt five blocks using one such petal.

Golberry

You can also find the very rare golberry there. It grows on a small vine that sprouts from the ground. Breaking it, you will get the berry. If you eat the latter, it will just slightly satiate your hunger. But if you collect five such berries, you will be able to cook a very nourishing pie, which replenishes 39 hunger points.

Fulngus Cave

There is an unusual cave under this dimension. You can find two types of mushrooms there — green and purple. Both mushrooms have two forms: a usual block and a growth hanging from the block. The latter spread their spores, and the latter occasionally give birth to the full-blown mushrooms.

New Mobs

The mod adds several new mobs. The first of them is the tortice. It is very small and poses no threat. This mob is completely friendly and has a minimum number of health points. After death, it drops meat, which can be fried and eaten.

The second mob is the glaciguana, which is also completely friendly. Moreover, if the player approaches it, they will receive the Regeneration II effect. If you hit this lizard, it will start to run away rapidly.

The next mob is the cellcap. This mob is completely passive to all the creatures and blocks along its way. If you kill it, it will drop a slimeball.

The cetus is a mob that will appear at the borders of this dimension. It is completely friendly, and it will not fight back even if you hit it.

One of the unique mobs introduced by this mod is called the fruncher. You can ride it even without taming. It will not receive damage from small spikes but cannot jump. By clicking the RMB on the mob, you will be able to ride it and rapidly move across the terrain. If you start attacking it in survival mode, it will make high jumps, trying to kill you, but you will still be able to ride it.

The next mob to consider is the fulsen chesnake. It is a very small mob, which will immediately start attacking you. However, it does not pose any threat, as it has low attack strength. However, if the player approaches this mob, it will receive the Mining Fatigue II effect and will practically not be able to break anything.

Another mob is the dusray. It can sit on the ground and fly. This mob is aggressive and will immediately attack you if it sees you. You can encounter it only at night, as it disappears during the day.

Cryosole is a blaze-like mob, which consists of a small head with an icy eye, around which two icicles fly. This mob is aggressive.

The next three mobs differ only in skin. Fraith, Airth, and Draith will meticulously hunt you, swaying from side to side. They spawn in dark places of this dimension and can drop the fraith eye after death.

The next mob resembles the squid but can fly. It will slowly fly around the dimension, and at the sight of you, it will begin to attack you, imposing the uncontrolled flight effect, with which you can easily fall into the abyss.

This mod features a worm-like snowman called flaciow that leaves snow behind. When you hit it, its body parts will start to fall away, and eventually, only the head will remain, which will still try to attack you. If you kill this mob, it will drop an enchanted snowball causing slightly more damage than a usual one.

The next mob spawning in this dimension is called pycnogonida. It is a strange six-legged creature with a large number of health points. Even though it is hostile, it does not pose much danger, as it moves very slowly.

Another creature is a small purple snake called frusk. It can boast a lot of health points and a realistic movement animation.

The next mob is practically a mini-boss. The mantr is a large bat that moves on the ground with folded wings. When you hit it several times, it will spread its wings and summon bats that will try to kill you. This mob is three-block tall, so it will not fit into two blocks in any way.

Even though the mod features a huge number of hostile mobs, all of them disappear during the day.

Boss and Mini-Boss

The mod adds both a mini-boss and a boss. The boss' dungeon is at the very bottom of the dimension. It is a large room made of dark blocks and glass made of the local ice. There are several mobs and spikes inside.

After lighting and cleaning the room, you will need to summon the boss. You can do this by breaking the draull altar in the center of the room. After that, the boss called Draull will appear, along with its similar-looking henchmen. It has a huge number of health and attack points, so it makes no sense to fight it unprepared. It will kill you in a couple of seconds. Draull can attack in two ways: by striking you and making icicles fall on you. After it runs out of health, it begins to attack you more actively, and the mask falls off its face. After you kill it, a portal will appear in the room, which will transfer you back to the Overworld. Besides, it will drop a totem. It can save you in case you start falling into the abyss. This totem will instantly get you to the sky of this dimension and impose the Slow Falling effect.

Ruins With Treasures

While exploring the dimension added by this mod, you will come across small ruins hiding chests. They are different from the usual ones, and you will not be able to open them manually and will need a key. There are three types thereof for each type of chest. The silver key opens the green chest, the golden key opens the blue chest, and the red key opens the purple chest.

Crafting Tools and Weapons

The mod introduces an alternative to the usual sticks in the form of ice rods. They are necessary for crafting tools and weapons. All the new tools can be created only from these rods. They are extracted from the spince stems growing in this dimension.

The mod brings some new weapons, armor, and tools. With the staff, you can inflict a lot of damage without recharging. There are four types of staff, with a unique effect and damage level each. The auroran staff is the most powerful, but it will need the auroran dust, which can be obtained only at night when the aurora appears low in the sky.

Having put on the armor introduced by this mod, you will no longer receive damage from the spikes, which is a great advantage, as the dimension is full of them.

Christmas Trees

The mod also adds several Christmas trees. To craft such a tree, you will need a golden nugget, a spruce sapling, and the bottle of tears. The latter is obtained by clicking the RMB on a weeping willow, which can be found in a spruce forest.

Additional Dungeons

The last thing to consider is the dungeons, which are of several types. The small dark brick ruins will hide a green chest and nothing else.

A two-story tower made of the same dark brick will contain several green chests. The same chests can also be found in a similar tower made of ice bricks.

You can sometimes come across a snow shelter of a villager. There is nothing interesting in it except for a nice interior of the house itself.
