Reworked Villages in Minecraft

The appearance of many locations and dungeons in Minecraft is undergoing changes, as designers of custom mods create their own options that allow you to change the architecture of buildings, dropped loot, mob behavior, biome generation, and many other aspects in a couple of clicks. And one of the most popular categories remains the villages insofar as they have hardly changed since the release of the first version. The developers from Mojang actively support Minecraft but mostly add new creatures, biomes, and some dungeons without updating old locations. It is here where fan-made mods come to the rescue.

One of such add-ons is VillageRevival - Plains Edition, a separate mod that allows you to change the appearance of peaceful villages in Minecraft or rather, to transform it beyond recognition. However, you will have to generate a map to see all the changes. At the moment, this mod mainly affects vanilla types of villages in Minecraft, adding even more different elements, decorations, and some noteworthy objects.

The main task of the designer was to update the appearance of villages while leaving the original style intact so that they look natural, eye-pleasing, and fresh. Each house has been completely reworked: while previously they were mere boxes, now they are full-fledged living premises, farmland structures, and various buildings with provisions, bedrooms, and some interior and exterior details. Thus, most buildings have become more voluminous, acquired architectural elements, and got an updated common style. That is a substantial reworking of the appearance of villages in Minecraft. However, at the same time, the designer of the VillageRevival - Plains Edition mod has tried to preserve their vanilla style.

That is, if you get to such a village, you will not confuse it with anything else, and you will immediately see which house belongs to which villager, as most of the buildings here have corresponding signs that depict food, leather, etc., which adds even more interest to these locations. In the standard version of Minecraft, almost every player visits peaceful villages to get basic loot, especially at the start, when they have nothing at all. Indeed, you can open chests, collect seeds, get leather, and use their food farms there…

The VillageRevival - Plains Edition mod only emphasizes the overall way of life and style of villagers in Minecraft. On the official webpage, you can find a separate section with screenshots that feature each house type. If you look at them, you will see that almost every standard building from Minecraft now has 2–3 randomly-generated styles. By default, that only applies to villages that generate in the plains, so it makes no sense to go to the savanna, as all the buildings there will remain standard. However, we have repeatedly uploaded different mods for Minecraft that change both the savanna and other types of settlements.

Overall, the mod has proved to be a cool project with well-designed houses, a common style, a rural atmosphere, differentiation of buildings by their inhabitants so that it is immediately clear which house a tanner or farmer lives in, a reworked approach to the generation of pens, farms, and other standard structures that appear next to the houses by default. All that is noteworthy content, thanks to which each player will be able to get many advantages in the game and just fully enjoy the visual side of Minecraft.
