In Minecraft, players can use many valuable and very important items that give them certain advantages. But that’s not all that comes to mind right away. We also have totems. They are used to instantly resurrect a player if they died. Such game artifacts allow you to get a second chance even if your character has actually died or is somewhere on the verge. And it is for the sake of totems that a separate Totem Of Infinity mod was created to change the standard mechanics.

The Totem Of Infinity add-on gives you the ability to reuse totems. That is, they don’t disappear from the inventory after restoring the player’s life, and this system can last forever. How does the whole process usually work in the vanilla version of the game? You carry a totem with you, and if the player dies (for example, from mobs, lava, players, or falling into the abyss), then you restore his lives there. But the item immediately disappears from the inventory after activation, since they are disposable in Minecraft by default. Now, you can use different mechanics, and this is a real challenge for this project, because the whole gameplay will change after using such tools.

How to use such artifacts effectively? If you found a totem in the game, you need to save it for some important trip in the vanilla version of the game, for example, to the Underworld or a land inhabited by hostile mobs and bosses. In a bastion, for example, a huge number of different creatures are waiting for the player and are ready to attack from the first minutes of the game. Here, you see the most interesting option of the Totem Of Infinity mod: now, you can reuse the totem if you use the «Infinity» enchantment. It can be applied to this artifact, although there used to be no such options in the standard game mode. You use the anvil, put the totem and the «Infinity» enchantment book there, and you’ll end up with the final item version with the effect.

After such manipulations, the player can put one totem in the inventory, which will constantly protect him from various types of deaths: falling from heights, blows from mobs, fire, lava, explosions. In fact, this is immortality for your character, who can visit any game biome without worrying about accidentally dying. Immortality is a new stage of development for the player, which you don’t have in the vanilla game version, but after using the Totem Of Infinity mod it becomes possible. So, if you decide to try playing with this add-on, you need to take some of the features and nuances into account:

· You can use the totem an infinite number of times only if the player has applied the «Infinity» effect onto it;

· The new mechanics work with the activated Totem Of Infinity mod. If you disable it, the vanilla survival principle will return, and each totem will disappear after use;

· The totem has no durability, so this enchanted item is used all the time;

· The totem won’t save you in the End if you fall out of the world. In this case, all your belongings will be lost;

· If the player accidentally throws this artifact into the lava, even the infinite totem will burn, and the player will lose an important item;

· When playing with the Totem Of Infinity mod, you’ll no longer be able to adhere to the vanilla principle of survival, because such features completely change the gameplay: you can visit any biome, without being afraid to die from bosses, jumping into lava, falling from a height and much more;

· Totems with an endless use cycle can help create new maps for passing a well-though-out plot;

· It’s perfect for project administrators and single-player modes where you need to check some options in the game world.

As you can see, the options of the Totem Of Infinity mod aren’t limited to exploring locations or killing mobs. You’ll become really invulnerable and gain a lot of advantages in the game world. Such tools are best for single player mode, where the player plays on their own. As for a server mod, all users and the project in general need to consider such mechanics: whether it will change the economy greatly, whether this will affect the overall balance or not. It is recommended to install the Totem Of Infinity mod when you really need it: for example, to test some game mechanics, kill a boss from third-party mods, to evaluate the functionality as a kind of super prize for a certain category of players on the server.
