Review Random Mob Effects (Fabric)

Mobs with Random Effects in the Game

All mobs appearing in the game world of Minecraft have similar properties: they deal similar amount of damage, spawn without armor or with some of its elements, which however isn’t likely; they can cast negative effects on the character, if we are talking about cave spiders or witches. Indeed, an experienced player «reads» almost any creature in a matter of seconds even before the player gets close to it. We suggest making all the mobs in the game a bit more random with different effects. This makes the game significantly more difficult, which means you’ll feel more interested and motivated to play in this mode. So, in this article we’ll talk about one of these mods …

The Random Mob Effects mod allows you to give each player a random potion effect when generating a new map and spawning mobs. You won’t know which one exactly, and these mechanics won’t allow you to «read» mobs like a book. Consequently, you can expect anything from all hostile creatures at any moment. If we are talking about a mob farm, then is all about a jackpot: neck or nothing. But the game of Minecraft will become obviously more interesting, because everyone has long been bored with the vanilla principle of survival, and they want something more. Actually, this is what Random Mob Effects is all about. We’ve described the important tasks this mod solves in detail, as well as its main features.

From now on, all mobs that appear in the game will be equipped with various potion effects, such as night vision, speed, health regeneration, and other options by default. These make a long list of buffs, and no one knows exactly which of them a mob gets in the game, as everything is absolutely random. At the same time, every mob gets the same random effect, regardless of which biome or dimension it’s in. And this is a serious problem for Minecraft players – if you attack several mobs at once or get into a «melee», it’s impossible to predict how it will end, since each creature has its own specific buffs, and you have no idea which ones a particular mob has.

Since this add-on was developed by a man nicknamed Serilum, we can assume that several settings will be added here so that each user can select certain parameters and customize the game the way they want:

· potionEffectLevel (by default = 1, min. 1, max. 50): the default effect level for mobs. That is, for example, if the value is set at 1, and the creature has the «Health Regeneration» effect, then it will be the first, but theoretically, it can be assigned the 50th. Then, we can hardly imagine how to kill such creatures in the game, as their HP regenerates at an incredible pace;

· hideEffectParticles (be default = false): if this parameter is active, the effect particles will be hidden. For example, you can’t determine the buffs that are currently active on this mob even by the particle color, but if the parameter is enabled, you won’t see it;

· disableCreepers (be default = true): creepers can create long-lasting eternal potion effects in Minecraft. You’ll have serious problems if this option is enabled, as these mobs will be able to get almost any buffs and attack you.

At the same time, the Random Mob Effects mod also features a blacklist, which includes all the effects that can’t be assigned to mobs. There are also certain default values here, both for the vanilla game and for the mods if you have any. For example, you may have several third-party add-ons in the Minecraft build that add important buffs to the game: so, if you want to disable certain effects for mobs, you just need to blacklist them. This is an important feature for any player who decides to play with the Random Mob Effects mod, since you can disable almost any effects in Minecraft in a couple of clicks.

In general, we can conclude that the Random Mob Effects mod adds not only the randomness and surprise effect, but diversifies the standard gameplay as well, offering the users massive battles with various creatures, random events. Besides, if the player creates different types of farms, they will now also have to take the new features of mobs into account, since they will have better health characteristics, the ability to overcome obstacles faster, as well as other nuances. That’s all that we can say about Random Mob Effects, but it’s enough for you to decide whether to add the mod to your build or not. Share in the comments what potion effects you disabled in the settings and why…
