Review Pufferfish's Attributes [Forge & Fabric]

New Capabilities for the Character

To boost certain characteristics or enhance parameters in Minecraft, most users apply enchantments or potions. For example, you can use «Sharpness» to make your sword inflict additional damage or «Efficiency» to quicker mine different types of blocks and resources with pickaxes. The same applies to «Repair» to automatically repair items, «Protection», to block more damage from different weapons. Indeed, there are many such parameters in the vanilla version, but the Mojang developers, let’s say, are in no hurry to add new attributes or categories.

Various mods developed by third-party users will help you with this. You can rightfully consider Pufferfish's Attributes one of these add-ons. Moreover, this is a separate product made by the same developers who created Pufferfish's Skills – an extremely popular mod for Minecraft. But right now, we are talking about Pufferfish's Attributes – an add-on that allows you to add new attributes to the game that make it possible for you to boost damage, running, strength and many other characteristics. It’s all controlled by commands, so be ready to memorize important commands and syntaxes, as you’ll definitely need them in the future.

This add-on uses a complex attribute modification system, since some of the Minecraft parameters are static by default or, vice versa, dynamic and depend on the player’s actions. As a result, the game will have the following types of dynamic parameters:

· Endurance;

· Melee damage;

· Outfighting damage;

· Luck;

· Healing;

· Jumping;

· Resistance;

· Mining speed;

· Axe speed;

· Shovel speed;

· Character’s running speed;

· Knockback;

· Repair cost.

As you can see from this list, you can use the Pufferfish's Attributes mod functions to change all these parameters in Minecraft. This takes just a couple of clicks, requiring almost no special skills from users. For you to clearly understand what each item is responsible for, we’ve prepared a detailed review of all the dynamic parameters in the game.

· Endurance – the default value is 4, which is rigidly fixed for this parameter, but now we can change it. Endurance in the game determines how quickly the character will spend food and lose saturation;

· Melee damage – another important parameter that determines the damage inflicted by melee weapons in Minecraft;

· Outfighting damage – changes the damage inflicted with long-ranged weapons;

· Luck – changes the luck when mining blocks. The same system is used for enchanting items. For example, you can use commands to give yourself any luck values even in the admin panel;

· Healing – sets a health value to be restored at a time when you use health regeneration;

· Jumping – determines how high your character can jump;

· Mining speed – changes the mining speed for all the tools that the player holds in his hand;

· Pickaxe speed – a separate parameter for the pickaxe mining speed in Minecraft;

· Axe speed – a separate parameter for the axe mining speed in Minecraft;

· Shovel speed – changes the shovel mining speed;

· Running speed – changes the basic running speed for the character;

· Knockback – one of the important attributes in Minecraft that determines how powerful the knockback will be;

· Repair cost – the default repair cost for the anvil.

You can use variables to change all these parameters. Each item needs a special command, and you should write a certain value next to it. Now, any of you can change certain characteristics in Minecraft in a couple of clicks and get completely different values. This significantly influences the gameplay and the survival mechanics, so be careful and remember which values you change. The system saves all the data on a specific map, and if you open another save, you’ll have to enter all the data again.
