The vanilla version of the game of Minecraft includes two types of golems only: iron and snow. They have been added into the sandbox a long time ago, and the developers don’t work on this branch in any way, although we’d like to see more capabilities, right? There are different types of add-ons for Minecraft, where enthusiastic developers add various types of new related creatures, but only a part of them can boast of high-quality textures, unique characteristics, some kind of plot or elaborated gameplay. And if you have long been dreaming of diversifying the list of golems in Minecraft, but didn’t know which mod to install, then decide on Plenty of Golems.

This mod adds a few dozens of new golems to the world of Minecraft, and each of them has high-quality look, certain types of models, behavior, characteristics, craft, and other important nuances. Generally speaking, after installing this mod, the game mechanics will change in a completely different direction, the gameplay will become more interesting and exciting, whether in a single or multiplayer mode on a server. You can play both with friends and alone, but everyone will find something to do.

The Plenty of Golems mod review

The Plenty of Golems mod – is a one of its kind add-on for Minecraft, which allows you to expand the game world and gameplay with new golems in a couple of clicks. Increase your army, craft new creatures, use various mechanics and methods to create an incredible world of two-legged and four-legged golems, each of them attracting attention from the first minutes. There are a lot of different mobs here, and the developer has added summoning eggs for all of them so that you can quickly spawn any of them. We’ve reviewed only a part of the golems, showing each creature’s advantages, differences in external parameters, animation, and other details.

Composter Golem

Composter golems are crafted from composter and carved pumpkin. Cool look, small size, and nice design. It has 50 health points, which is enough to deal as much damage to opponents as possible. It can attack several zombies, creepers, or skeletons at once, throwing seeds at them. Also deals damage in close combat. Another advantage of this golem is that it additionally fertilizes the soil in game, replacing the bone meal. As a result, everything you planted will grow on the battlefield. Its AI isn’t particularly smart, so sometimes it behaves ina strange way.

Honey Golem

Honey golem attracts from the very first glance with its appearance. It has 80 health points and throws honey, but it doesn’t hit the target from the first throw. The main feature is slowing down enemies if the creature hit the target. The enemy moves much slower, so the honey golem defeats it without taking additional damage. It’s thoroughly elaborated, and you’ll feel like spawning at least one of such mobs just to get access to this unique and beautiful texture, leave them somewhere as guards on duty, or just watch through the window a honey one walking around your territory.

Smithing Golem

Smithing golems are a group of different creatures with the same crafted base, but iron, diamond, and gold blocks can be used as components. You can select what to install, and if you don’t choose, you won’t be able to activate the golem. Their look will differ in a strip – if we are talking about the gold one, it will have a golden line, if a diamond block – then, a diamond one, and so on. It has 200 health points, can deal huge damage to mobs, resists a large army of hostile creatures, and just looks cool. If you want to pull a valuable block out of it, just right-click on the golem, holding the pickaxe, and the block will drop. You can use the same method to change a diamond block to an iron one, for example, and so on.

Stonecutter Golem

The Stonecutter golem stands out with its beautiful animation: it has spinning stone cutters, and it literally saws enemies in its way. The bleeding effect remains, and it looks nice and unusual. You definitely haven't seen anything like this in Minecraft before. It has 80 health points and can attack several zombies or other mobs at once, and in general just complements the total list of creatures added in the mod.

Hay Golem

Hay golems in Minecraft have their own specific task – they are needed to distract hostile mobs, especially during the daytime. For example, a zombie sees a hay creature and tries to run after it but receives damage from the sun. At the same time, your army can safely attack mobs while they are distracted by the hay one. Cheap crafting, unique look, cool mechanics, and AI development. It doesn’t actually take part in a battle, so it won’t be able to stand up against a large army. It’s better to use it together with other golems.

Nether Golem

Another representative of the new creatures in the Plenty of Golems mod, which immediately attracts any player’s attention with its appearance. Has 150 health points, can throw fireballs from «bazooka hands», deals a huge amount of damage, and is endowed with colorful animation. Several such defenders may well repel attacks on villages, large forts, and fortresses. It’s cheap to craft, but the creatures are very effective in battle.

Stack Golem

One of the unique golems in Minecraft is a stack version. It’scrafted from semi-blocks and is a strange structure. If it sees an opponent, it falls into small blocks and deals damage individually. After that, it assembles itself back into the general form and can move further. The player can right-click on each half-block if he wants, collecting the entire structure into his inventory, and then return it to its previous state. It has 20 health points, deals decent damage, is invulnerable to many mobs and just looks nice.

Barrel Golem

How can you do without a barrel golem in the review, if this creature simply crushes the enemy with its rolls, dealing it a colossal amount of damage. Just look at how cool it is, how it moves. And you can store additional resources here, because barrel golems are an additional storage place in Minecraft. However, everything falls out of it if the creature is killed, so we don’t recommend leaving valuable resources here. However, you can leave spare blocks for forging options, for example, so as not to carry them in your personal inventory.

Furnace Golem

Well, the last one in our review is a furnace golem, which stands out with its look and animation. It will literally burn its opponents, dealing damage to them with body and fire, be it creepers, zombies, witches, or any other types of mobs in Minecraft. Unique behavior style, cool animation, and efficiency in battle. But the golem isn’t particularly strong, so it’s better to use it together with other types of creatures.

The capabilities of the Plenty of Golems mod are impressive, while we have talked only about half of the golems available here. All of them have their characteristics, behavior, unique look, animation, and certain features. In general, craft isn’t complicated and cheap for most creatures. If you build your own city or settlement and want to fight with a large army, then the Plenty of Golems mod will come in handy for you, as it provides defending mobs with different potential.
