Paper Doll – Copy the character’s actions

In Minecraft, you can change not only how the blocks or textures look, but also the interface – by complementing it with a few pleasant innovations. If you’ve ever played the mobile version Pocket Edition, you’ve seen that it has a mini version of your character, right? You can add your version of this icon to the computer version of Minecraft, where Steve will completely copy all the actions and display them on the screen. This is not only nice to watch, but may also be convenient in many situations, which we’ll discuss further. And it a small mod called Paper Doll that makes it possible…

The mod is really small, with limited functions that pursue clearly defined goals only. It’s developed and supported by the well-known user Futz who created the Echo Chest mod, which we also discussed in our reviews with detailed screenshots. The Paper Doll mod will completely copy the character’s behavior, displaying all his actions. It’s a kind of small doll that you can fine-tune using a special menu.

The Paper Doll mod review

As soon as you install the Paper Doll mod in Minecraft, you’ll see the «doll» on the screen (a complete Steve’s copy). This character performs exactly the same actions that the player is currently doing. For example, the icon will also show movement if you are running. If we are talking about PvP and you are striking with a sword at the moment, then this icon will display the same activity. The system repeats almost all the actions possible in the game, so be sure to install the Paper Doll mod in your assembly or mod pack if you like these mechanics.

A very convenient system when you’re running blind. You’ll immediately see that the character has fallen into the water, into the lava, is flying, crawling, sliding on the ice. If the player is doing nothing at the moment, the icon disappears for a while. The character appears on the screen again as soon as you start moving or any other action. Everything is displayed in the upper left part of the monitor by default, but you can change the location if you want. But that’s not all…

The system displays not only standard Steve’s look, but also all the skins , which you use. For example, if you are now using a certain skin or cloak, the mod displays the content and copies it in this icon. This also applies to all sorts of armor sets, hats, and other options the character’s look customization, which is more than convenient. You don’t need to open the inventory all the time – all you need is to look in the corner at how Steve is looking at the moment. To summarize, there are several important features of the Paper Doll mod to highlight:

· Flexible configuration system. You are the one to choose the way the icon will be displayed and its location. This makes it possible to customize the appearance according to your needs. At the same time, even a beginner can easily comprehend the menu items;

· Real-time preview. All data is displayed in real time without any delays, which is especially important for both single and multiplayer modes. Everything changes instantly when you change the settings;

· Compatibility. The Paper Doll mod is compatible with Forge and Fabric and is constantly supported and updated by the developer. If you install it via TLauncher into the mod pack list, the system will automatically install all the libraries it needs to operate properly.

This is one of the most interesting and at the same time simple mods, where you can additionally view all your actions. By the way, the vanilla game version and the launcher by Mojang use a similar system, but there all your actions are displayed as a text at the bottom of the screen. Most users disable it, but you can install the Paper Doll mod instead of this function. According to the developer, it adds a new level of immersion to the game, and it’s an additional guide and assistant for beginners.

If you want to configure the Paper Doll mod, you’ll need to go to the Mods section in the main menu of the launcher, then proceed to the mod list and find Paper Doll there. Next, all you need is to click the Config button (it must be active), and now you can configure the mod as you like. Here, you can choose the icon size, its location on the screen, a quick enable/disable function, and a few other important parameters. If you disable the interface so that the cells, the gunsight and other elements of the bar become invisible, the Paper Doll mod functions will be disabled automatically as well.
