Indeed, magic does not require so many items, as you can decide in favor of a mod called Mystic Staffs, which will add unique staffs to Minecraft, allowing you to control all the effects in a couple of clicks and take advantage of many new features. They are uncraftable, but, as the designers claim, any player can create recipes for them using the CraftTweaker add-on.

The Mystic Staffs mod adds several unique staffs to the game, each with a unique appearance, elaborate particles, effects, and sounds. Review of the Mystic Staffs Mod

The mod brings ten different staffs to the game, although not all of them may be visible via JEI. We have tried to describe each of them so that you can understand what content it features.

Fire Staff. Using it, you will be able to destroy hordes of mobs in a couple of clicks, which will literally burn within a certain radius. It works only against creatures and does not affect Minecraft players, but if you wish, you can change that in the config file.

Glow Staff. It reveals all mobs within a certain distance from the player. So if you get it, you will not have to use the minimap anymore.

Wind Staff. It is a kind of witch broom with which you can launch yourself horizontally in the direction of the staff. Its mechanics resemble those of the trident in the vanilla Minecraft.

Flight Staff. It is another staff option for Minecraft that allows your character to fly. This time, you will be able to move vertically without having to worry about the falling damage — provided that you hold it in your hand.

Heal Staff. It is a unique in-game item using which you can restore the health of everyone around you, including mobs and players. It will not only heal all the selected creatures, though, but also cause additional damage to hostile mobs. So we can confidently say that it is a versatile and extremely useful item that performs several functions at once.

Invisibility Staff. What could be cooler in the game than invisibility? With this item, you will be able to make any creature invisible by simply clicking on it. You will also be able to adjust the invisibility level. Your character can also become invisible for a certain time, so this item can be well used for your purposes.

Path Staff. The main purpose of this in-game item is to create a temporary floating ice block platform out of thin air so that you can move along it. Your path will depend on the direction of your sight. Advanced users will be able to configure it.

Iceball Staff. Want to freeze all mobs on your way in one click? It will be enough to cast an ice ball, and it will turn all the creatures into ice statues. However, if they receive fire damage, they will quickly unfreeze.

Solar Beam Staff. It is another unique item added by the Mystic Staffs mod, which allows you to kill all the mobs around with a massive beam of solar energy for the subsequent collection of loot. It works against any in-game creatures.

Sunstrike Staff. If you love solar energy, this item will be useful to you, as it will allow you to cause sunstrokes that will hit the ground and cause damage in a certain radius, setting creatures on fire. However, it is effective only when the latter are in an open space and will not cause any damage inside buildings.

Each staff requires recharging, so you will not be able to fly or kill mobs incessantly. You should keep that in mind, especially when you hope to quickly heal your personal army or kill a large number of mobs during a battle.

As you can see, the effects of using these staffs are very different, and most items are unique and highly important for your survival. You will have to spend some time finding these artifacts in different in-game locations, but if you wish, you will always be able to edit the config file and add a recipe for each of them. All the staffs are elaborate, have unique animations, and are endowed with various effects, and that is a big advantage of the Mystic Staffs mod, as it attracts players not only with magic effects but also with the detail level.

You will also be able to apply extra enchantments to any staff, say, to increase the strength of the solar energy, enhance drop from mobs, or add durability, as all the staffs have certain indicators. The standard enchantment mechanics and the features of the Mystic Staffs mod are perfectly compatible here. It is recommended to use books with ready-made enchantments.

The mod also brings a lot of visual effects, and the designers have tried to make them colorful so that each use of a staff attracts other players and creates a special atmosphere in a particular area. If you install the Mystic Staffs mod on a server, you can be sure that every player will want to own one of these staffs, or even all of them at once, since each artifact is important in its own way and has useful effects. The only thing is that the Mystic Staffs add-on works fine on version 1.12.2 but, unfortunately, has no more recent versions at the moment.
