Review Moyai structures

Moyai Statues in Minecraft

Moyai are unique monolithic stone statues scattered around the globe that were built somewhere between 1250 to 1500 years. Some of the most famous are believed to be Ahu Tongariki, Ahu Akivi, Ahu Nau Nau, and archaeologists keep finding new Moyai all around the globe. Why are we talking about it? You can also add such structures in Minecraft, and if you want to diversify the game world, you can install the Moyai Structures mod, which will add new dungeons to a couple of clicks. As a result, you’ll sometimes run into such structures and additionally be able to get valuable loot…

The Moyai Structures mod will add Moyai statues throughout the Minecraft game world, but most often you’ll find them in the mushroom field biome. No player can miss such locations, and if they see such a structure somewhere nearby, they’ll definitely try exploring, privatizing, and getting inside it. This functionality expands the overall gameplay and give you an additional incentive to explore new biomes in Minecraft, since vanilla options are too boring and not interesting, especially subject to such a long list of mods, where everything has already been built for you. Do you wonder what these statues look like? We’ve posted a few screenshots for you so that you can understand what the features of Moyai are, how they look, and how they differ from each other.

In total, it adds 12 new structures, and all of them relate to Moyai statues. These are ancient stone statues with a humanoid image. Most of these structures are huge in size, and the developer decided to adhere to the same principle in Minecraft. If you want to find new locations, you’ll just need to run around the game world or just fly over it with Elytras, and you’ll immediately see all the available dungeons from the Moyai Structures mod. The only difference of the statues is appearance: some are higher, others are lower; different materials are used for generating this object, but in most cases, they are about 80% similar.

A completely monolithic structure will also be added to the game world, so no entrances and exits are provided here. But the author of this add-on said that there is a chance that there may be chests with valuable loot somewhere near the Moyai statues, and here you’ll have to choose whether to break this structure for loot or leave it as a monument on the server. Chests can spawn inside and under the statue, but most often they’re underground. If the player has access to creative mode, then you can switch to the «Observer» and check the entire bottom of the structure.

Also, the players with creative mod can /locate structure main_structure: and after the «:» sign, specify which Moyai option you are interested in. There are 12 different statues available here, and some of them will be with loot and chests, and the rest are empty. You won’t know the location of each option until you break the structure or x-ray it in observer mode. You should also keep the principle of generation in the game world in mind. Only one statue can appear in certain biomes, but in some cases, several can be generated at once: when testing the mod, we had 4 such structures at once, and we took a screenshot so that you can appreciate the view.

You mainly get different types of valuable materials (iron, copper, diamonds) as loot, as well as bones, bottles of experience, threads, pieces of clay and other types of resources that are not particularly valuable to the player. Looking for these structures just for loot isn’t a very clever strategy, because the player will spend more time than he finds resources, and there is no way to become richer here. But if you just want to find beautiful structures in the game and enjoy the view, then the Moyai Structures mod is a great solution for this.

All the statues look very formidable and can be used for further building and development of a certain settlement. For example, if you’ve found a Moyai statue, you can start building a city or a small village from this structure, construct a castle or something similarly grandiose. It’s up to you to decide how to use such dungeons in the game, but in general they are in demand among players. Since Moyai belong to history, you can try recreating a kind of colony of that time, because Minecraft offers plenty of mods, where the player can spawn additional mobs and creatures in the game world.

To sum up, we can say that Moyai structures is a pretty good mod for the game, allowing you to add a large number of ancient structures to the game world in a couple of clicks. We recommend taking a closer look at other add-ons by the same author. For example, he has the Ancient Enchantment Temple mod, which adds a beautiful ancient jungle temple to Minecraft. And if you scatter such locations throughout the game world, the players will never feel bored.
