Numerous rumors and secrets surround Minecraft, including those about different types of locations, some Easter eggs, and Herobrine when it comes to the vanilla game version. And if you consider various mods that provide users with a wide range of new content, their list will become endless! If you like such mysterious items or entities, be sure to read our review of the Moyai mod, which brings Easter Island statues to the cubic world. In fact, they have to do with a real historical and mysterious place not everybody knows about.
Easter Island is a remote piece of land belonging to Chile and located in southeastern Polynesia. Its discovery began in 1722 and immediately ended with coming across the giant moai statues, notable for their appearance and size. Each of them has a unique appearance, certain facial features, and elongated shapes. There are as many as about 800 such statues there, and each one meant something to the people who lived there more than 500 years ago. For their part, the designers of the Moyai mod were inspired by all that and created an add-on that brings those moai to Minecraft!
The moai statues will perfectly fit with the overall style of Minecraft, as plenty of unexplored and hidden phenomena are peculiar to this game, and these objects will only complement the vanilla atmosphere, especially somewhere in the jungle and other similar biomes. They can be found mainly on beaches and mushroom islands, but that is not the most important thing you need to know! In fact, the designers of the Moyai mod have highlighted several other features and secrets related to them. Their complete list is as follows:
· The statues are quite rarely found, but if you want to see them, you should go to a beach or the mushroom fields biome. The latter are separate unique islands that are beloved by players who try to take control over them on servers.
· They are also can sometimes be found in the jungle, but it will be more difficult to discern them among the dense foliage and grass.
· If you place several such statues side by side, they will talk to each other. An interesting mechanic, right? You hardly expected to see that in the Moyai mod.
· As soon as the full moon comes, the statues acquire the ability to move, and if the player installs such an object at home, they may be terrified at first. So keep children away from the monitor when playing the Moyai mod.
· All the statues emit a unique sound, which cannot be confused with others.
· If such a stone statue falls, it can cause tremendous damage to players and mobs due to gravity. Accordingly, they can be used as traps.
· The statues can also be turned into firework stars.
· All the statues from the Moyai add-on can be used to create golems.
· The statues themselves are uncraftable and can only be found in the above biomes. So they are a limited resource in Minecraft!
As you can see, the potential of this mod is broad and not limited to mere visual effects, like many decorative design options. After installing Moyai, you will be able to use these statues as decorations, to scare off other players, and to create your own location for completion, traps, or protection from mob raids and griefers. The applications are numerous, which is a great advantage of this mod. By the way, Moyai has already been downloaded more than 1.2 million times, and this number continues to grow since the designers constantly add new features related to the statues and interaction with them.
As soon as the full moon comes, some of these statues begin to move randomly. However, that happens not that often, so players will just have to sit and wait for such an event. Besides, they talk to each other and have full-fledged dialogues. Thus, they can greet each other or give certain advices, which is really unusual. So any player can now get a makeshift friend that sometimes says something while remaining a mere stone! If you do not know, you can use the /time set 14000 command to activate the full moon. It will last 22000 ticks only, so you will not have much time to witness the movement of a statue.
And given that these blocks can easily move, you should not be surprised if such firmly standing objects simply leave your settlement and end up elsewhere. It was not an enderman that dragged them away, but they just moved on their own. Players who like to arrange various types of traps will have plenty of room for creativity. Due to the high gravity, one such stone can cause huge damage. So if you use them as defensive structures or hanging traps, you will be able to instantly kill any mobs or players infiltrated to your territory. However, you will have to stock up on these statues, as even a dozen of them will not be enough for a full-fledged and elaborate system.
