Review Lios Overhauled Villages

Enhanced Peaceful Villages for Minecraft

A peaceful village is one of the first locations visited by any player in Minecraft. At the initial stages of your survival, you can find many valuable materials there, the basic tools and armor, and important seeds and food for replenishing health and saturation points. Even though the developers from Mojang try to somehow refine the appearance of these settlements, for the most part, they remain about the same as they were at the moment of release, and compared to various global mods and simply colorful buildings, they look inferior, to put it mildly. That is why modders began to create their own add-ons that allow players to change any villages in Minecraft in one click.

Today, we are going to tell you about one of the best options that changes peaceful in-game villages — Lios Overhauled Villages. It not only changes their style and appearance, though, but also increases their area and adds many interior details and significant minor elements that emphasize the overall atmosphere. Believe us, you have never seen such settlements before, as the designer of this mod has done a tremendous job reworking most of the villages in Minecraft. That is why we have deliberately taken a lot of screenshots to show you how cool all the settlements have proved to be and how the general style of the peaceful villages has changed.

Are you ready to see something amazing? The designer of the Lios Overhauled Villages mod has reworked most of the Minecraft villages, and if you get there for the first time, you will not recognize them at all. Everything has changed: style, area size, minor elements, decorative design, appearance, and much more. You might even think that you come across a small town. Still, it is a village whose every structure looks incredible. Take, for example, a savanna village. This settlement has become 3–5 times larger since all its houses are now scattered at a great distance from each other. It is difficult to understand where the boundaries of such a village end even from a bird's-eye view, and everything largely depends simply on the random generation system of Lios Overhauled Villages.

The exterior design of each house has been thoroughly reworked. It does not resemble the default version you have seen in Minecraft. Villages of each biome are made of the materials peculiar to it to fit with the local environment. In the savanna, we can see a settlement made of stone bricks with orange wood blocks, which looks very cool. The furniture inside the houses has not changed much: you will see standard beds, chests, sometimes tables, and steps to the second floor. However, each building has acquired more details, both inside and outside. It is not just a box but a unique and elaborate house of a particular place and time.

Besides, there are many other structures used in a certain craft scattered throughout the territory. Thus, you can see smitheries, plantations, and enchanting houses. Besides, the Lios Overhauled Villages mod adds numerous cattle pens. Indeed, in the vanilla game version, that was a big problem, as the developers did not add any such functionality. Here, each settlement can have up to ten pens with sheep, cows, horses, and other mobs by default. So if the player starts their journey of solo survival and uses this add-on, it will be easier for them to go to a village and find everything they need there, which is another reason to download the Lios Overhauled Villages mod and try to play with it.

Now, look at the generation pattern of peaceful villages in other biomes. It is different from the standard version, isn't it? We can see altogether different buildings that do not resemble vanilla Minecraft at all and look way better. Each of them is made from a large amount of wood, stone bricks, slabs, and bricks. There are also pens that can contain separate species of animals, such as cows, sheep, etc., or all at once. Bridges are built between small water ditches and obstacles so that NPCs can move there. In a village, you can find farm buildings and plantations, and they are indeed cultivated and not as abandoned as in the vanilla game version.

Another important feature here is the natural generation of the biome in which a village is located. It can have height differences, mountains, hills, caves, and ravines. Still, the system perfectly builds an overall pattern of the structures' arrangement, including on different levels. When you see the result, it seems that all that was done manually, but it is just a scripted algorithm of Lios Overhauled Villages that works perfectly. Some buildings may even utilize blackstone, so if desired, the player can collect it at the expense of sacrificing them.

Inside, each house has also undergone major changes: more decorative elements and minor details have been added there. In general, there is a wide selection of different items, and the loot inside the chests has also changed. We will not disclose everything so as not to spoil your interest and recommend you install Lios Overhauled Villages and see what is now dropped as loot in this or that village. By the way, within an aquatic biome, there is a possibility of spawning axolotles even close to a village, which will be immediately seen near bridges or shores. That is amazing, and we have never seen that before!

One can describe the mod for a long time, but we have tried to take more screenshots for you to show all the charms of the new villages in Minecraft and their features. Still, they depict only two settlement types out of all the available ones, so we recommend you download the Lios Overhauled Villages mod and see how much everything has changed yourself. In such a settlement, it is much more pleasant to interact with villagers, participate in their everyday lives, breed NPCs, and somehow develop. You will be able to easily complete a village and expand its area, creating a full-fledged town in Minecraft.
