Japanese Culture

A small mod that adds a bit of Japanese culture to Minecraft. Inside, you’ll find a new biome, new mobs, some new food and, of course, its famous paper lanterns.

Biom

The mod adds a new biome – the Garden of Wisteria. These are special trees with an interesting deep-purple texture. You can cut them, plant them, or collect foliage from them, just like from vanilla trees. You can use Wisteria wood to craft all kinds of vanilla wooden blocks.

Mobs

A rather funny mob will appear in the game – a Tanuki bear. It features an interesting animation and looks cute. The mob is safe and not particularly useful as a source of loot – it just doesn’t have any loot. But it looks quite funny as a cute decorative animal.

Another mob is – Oni – and it’s hostile. It has a standard health level for Minecraft. This mob mostly spawns in the Hell vastness and doesn’t cause any hardships to an experienced player. They are interesting because they are a part of Japanese mythology.

Items

New items will appear in the game as well.

Legendary paper lanterns, which you can craft in two colors, provide quite bleak lighting, but look interesting as a Japanese-style decoration.

New bonsai pots make it possible to grow bonsai. In fact, you can plant the trees even in vanilla pots, but bonsai pots look cute and fresh.

You can also craft a Daruma block. It’s a traditional Japanese tumbler doll, which is believed to make its owner happy.

Food

Indeed, no new mod, especially an Asia-related one, can do without new food. As you can expect from Japan, new dishes will appear on the menu here – sushi, tofu, onigiri, and even octopus tentacles, which now fall out of the Octopus. You can fry them or eat them raw.

The only problem with sushi from the mod is that the mod doesn’t add a new crop – rice. Therefore, in the survival mode you can cook new dishes only using additional mods that fix this problem.
