Howling Moon

Howling Moon is a mod that allows you to turn into a werewolf and see the world through its eyes. But you should be very careful since hunters always attack werewolves.

New Ore

The world generates new silver ore. After its smelting, you get a silver ingot and can make a silver sword. Besides, there are some areas where you can find a new flower – wolfsbane. It should be noted that the sword and ingot look as if they are made of iron.

Hunters

You can meet hunters anywhere in the world. Please note that the werewolf is much stronger than the hunter. In almost all cases, the werewolf kills the hunter, but it all depends on the level and skills of a particular werewolf. Hunters have two types of weapons: an iron sword and a bow. In addition to werewolves, hunters also kill hostile mobs, such as zombies. If the werewolf infects the hunter with lycanthropy, his death is inevitable since other hunters will kill him. Some hunters hold moon pearls in addition to weapons. They are required for werewolves to progress. (Every 5 levels, you should have a moon pearl in your inventory and go to sleep holding it in your hands.)

Hunter’s Lodge

Hunters live in spacious houses that are generated near villages. The houses are quite cozy. The hunter’s items are stored on the second floor. Besides, there is a separate room where the hunter puts werewolves.

Werewolves

During the day, werewolves won’t attack the player. They will only fight hunters and eat various animals. Werewolves come in different colors. Each werewolf has its peculiarities and skills, which can be determined by the speed of movement and jumps. To turn into a werewolf, you need to become infected with lycanthropy, which means getting bitten by a werewolf. Once infected, the player will become a werewolf on a full moon night. If you are attacked by a werewolf on the night when there is no full moon, you will simply be killed.

How to avoid becoming a werewolf

If you are infected with lycanthropy but do not want to turn into a werewolf, there is a way out. You need to make a wolfsbane potion that will drive out the infection. After taking it, you will feel nauseous and hungry for about 30 seconds.

Werewolf Player

After you become a werewolf, you cannot hold food or any other items in your paws. Thus, the process of eating is a little different. You cannot eat various foods, only raw or cooked meat of any kind. Even fish will not work. Hunger will be much stronger if you’re a werewolf. By pressing the K button, you can open the inventory and find out your level, discover new abilities, and much more. Look at the main screen to see your appearance, level, and inclination. In the early stages, the inclination is neutral. If you want to level up, you need experience. To raise to the next level, you need to spend 25 points of experience.

Upgrade Abilities

You can use the second tab to open new abilities and increase your traits, such as strength, defense, high jump, resistance, the ability to dig, rend, knockback, and more. There are 9 different abilities: the “climb” ability allows you to climb certain blocks, the number of which increases with level. The “ram” ability while running allows you to knock back and stun nearby creatures. The “leap” ability allows you to jump forward with incredible speed. The “lift & throw” ability allows you to collect and carry items with empty paws. The “rage” ability allows the werewolf to become stronger and deal severe damage with no armor or weapons.

The “paw” ability allows you to hold items in your paws, but their effectiveness is reduced. The regular werewolf cannot wear armor. However, enabling this feature reduces the effectiveness of your armor, as well as your mobility. Moreover, if you want your prey to die slowly and painfully, you should injure it. There is also the “scent tracking” ability (the tracking distance increases with level).

Appearance

The third tab allows you to change the appearance of your werewolf to a wolf or a regular werewolf. You can also choose a black, white, forest, or dire wolf.

Level Up

To level up, you need experience, which is obtained by killing various creatures. Thus, you need 25 points of experience to get to level 2, 50 – to level 3, 75 – to level 4, and 100 – to level 5. There are 20 levels in total. As you level up, you can learn new abilities. To achieve greater efficiency and increase your skills and abilities, you need to enter the werewolf dimension. You can unlock it at levels 5, 10, 15, and 20. To get into the dimension, you need a moon pearl. Wait for the night when there is no full moon and go to sleep holding a moon pearl in your hands. If you do so, you will wake up in this dream world to get werewolf powers.
