The game has a large number of modifications with different types of weapons, but only a few can boast of their quality and will be at least somehow close to the vanilla version of Minecraft.

But if you want to supplement the standard version with the perfect vanilla-styled option that would allow you to shoot and effectively fight mobs, we recommend that you pay attention to Guns without Roses. This mod currently adds various well-developed weapons with unique characteristics, several ammo types, and some realistic physics. And at the same time, it does not break the balance of the game, so it is quite possible to use it both in single-player mode and on servers.

According to the author, the weapons are similar to what you see in Terraria, but they have some significant improvements. All types of weapons fire with a certain delay between shots. Their projectiles are fast and not affected by gravity. However, there is a certain system of error and deviation, depending on which weapon you use.

Iron Gun

The Iron Gun is the basic gun for early game usage. It is considered the simplest type and deals less damage than others.

Its accuracy is 0.67, which means that approximately 67% of 100 bullets fired will hit the target. The remaining 33% of bullets will have certain deviations. Whenever you fire a shot, the gun loses its durability. Besides, there is a certain reload time, which is equal to 16.

Gold Gun

The Gold Gun is a copy of the Iron Gun, but it is slightly modified. It has the same characteristics: the cooldown is 16 and the accuracy is 0.67. However, this gun is less durable and more easily enchantable. For the Ion Gun, you can use only one enchantment option.

Secret tactics! You cannot simultaneously use two iron or two gold guns in both hands since the reload will work for all weapons of the same type. But you can take an iron gun in one hand and a gold one in the other. In this case, the reload will work exactly for the weapon from which the shot is fired.

Diamond Sniper

The Diamond Sniper is a highly accurate Minecraft weapon that can deal a lot of damage and has almost no dispersion. The rifle has 100% accuracy: the «accuracy» parameter indicates «perfect». Its damage is 1.6.

To craft a sniper rifle, you need 2 diamonds, 2 sticks, an iron ingot, any glass, and some flint. In general, the craft is not very expensive, so this weapon is quite possible to create. The sniper rifle also has a certain level of durability. Its cooldown is 22, so the reload time is longer than in regular guns.

Diamond Shotgun

Another unique and useful weapon is the Diamond Shotgun. The rate of fire is the same as that of regular guns. Besides, it has a large dispersion. The damage is only 0.45. That’s why you will have to shoot a lot of ammo to kill a player or mob.

Its accuracy also leaves much to be desired (only 17% of 100 bullets fired hit the target). It shoots 5 projectiles at a time, so be sure to stock up on a large number of bullets if you are using a shotgun. To craft a shotgun, you need 2 diamonds, 2 sticks, some flint, and any wood block. The skin does not change and always remains the same.

Diamond Gatling

The Diamond Gatling is the fastest-fire weapon added by Guns without Roses. Despite the high rate of fire, it seems that the speed increases gradually. According to its characteristics, it shoots 4 times faster than a regular gun. But with active shooting, the player slows down. So, you won’t be able to move quickly with the Gatling in your hands, just like in real life.

There is also a separate stat that allows you to not consume ammo with a 33% chance. This means that you will save about 33 bullets for every 100 pieces fired. This saves resources and is quite helpful in some situations. The accuracy is 0.25. Thus, the dispersion is high and only 25% of all projectiles fired hit the target.

Bullets

This mod uses different types of bullets that can deal certain damage, have their specific crafting recipes, and differ in some other characteristics and features. In total, 4 types of bullets are currently available:

• Flint Bullets are early-game bullets that deal 4 damage. They are crafted mainly from flint and one piece of gunpowder. One craft gives a fairly large number of bullets;

• Iron Bullets are a kind of «golden mean». It takes 4 iron ingots and 1 piece of gunpowder to get 32 projectiles. This is a minimal craft, which is quite expensive, especially if you need machine gun bullets. The iron projectile deals 6 damage;

• Blaze Bullets– this crafting involves 8 iron bullets and blaze powder. The main advantage of these projectiles is that they deal 8 damage and automatically set enemies on fire. You can shoot at different mobs from a long distance and set them on fire, which is quite effective. But since the craft is rather expensive, it is better to use a rifle;

• Maws of Gluttony– these are interesting bullets crafted from netherite scrap, rotten flesh, diamonds, and bones. It is an expensive craft since it uses netherite scrap. However, you only have to craft one such item that will further use your hunger for infinite bullets. Each shot takes away half a unit of your hunger. If the hunger bar is empty, you will start losing your health.

It’s up to you to choose which weapon to shoot from and which bullets to use. They can be used in any weapon from Guns without Roses. However, you will need to roughly calculate how profitable it is to craft certain bullets and use them against a certain category of mobs. Also, do not forget that each weapon has certain durability. Thus, the more you shoot, the faster they become unusable.

A few more important points about shooting :

1. If you want to shoot, you must put bullets into your quick slots;

2. Those bullets that are closest to the first inventory slot are used first. Of course, if they are the only ones, then it does not matter in which slot they are located;

3. You can also shoot underwater. The projectiles will fly in a straight trajectory, but the speed will slow down;

4. Weather conditions do not affect shooting mechanics and bullet physics in any way.

Enchantments

And the last thing we would like to talk about are different types of enchantments added with this modification. They can be used for all types of weapons. Although only one enchantment is available for the Iron Gun, you can use several of them at once for other types of weapons.

In general, the following types of enchantments will be available to you:

• Impact– it increases weapon damage and can grant up to +3 additional damage with each shot. The enchantment has 5 levels;

• Bullseye– it increases weapon accuracy. The higher the enchantment level, the more accurately you shoot. At its max level, it grants a 267% bonus to hit accuracy. This means the bullet will fly accurately from any weapon. The enchantment has 3 levels;

• Sleight of Hand– it increases rate of fire. The higher the enchantment level – the faster your weapon will shoot, regardless of its type. The enchantment has 3 levels, and the maximum LVL allows for semi-automatic shooting;

• Preserving– it gives a chance to not consume a certain number of bullets when shooting. The higher the preserving level, the greater the likelihood is. The enchantment has 3 levels.

These are all the features currently available in the mod. We can conclude that it is one of the best-designed vanilla-styled mod packs with balanced characteristics, quite useful enchantments, and well-developed mechanics that perfectly affect the atmosphere of Minecraft.
