Friends&Foes (Forge)

This mod complements the game with those mobs that the Mojang developers once refused. These mobs didn’t get enough votes in the official chat, but the players liked them so much that decided to add them themselves. Besides, the mod also adds a new profession and new useful blocks.

Peaceful mobs

The Copper Golem – a peaceful mob. The player can summon it to protect villages, just as its elder Iron comrade. The little one isn’t particularly strong – just 10 hearts – but this doesn’t belittle his heroic nature.

To craft the Copper Golem, you’ll need one copper block, a carved pumpkin, and a lightning rod. Put the copper block on the ground with the pumpkin atop of it, and the lightning rod – on the pumpkin. That’s it. Now you have your personal Copper Golem.

The Copper Golems can be prone to oxidation, like the rest of the copper blocks. Accordingly, they can be of one of three colors &ndash brown, greenish brown, and green. So that the golem color doesn’t change, you can wax it. And if the golem has fully oxidized, you can clean it with an axe.

The Tuff golem – another peaceful defender mob that you can summon. Its health level also leaves much to be desired – 10 hearts only – but its crafting recipe is rather cheap, so you can summon the whole army of golems without any problems.

You can summon the Tuff Golem using a tuff block, a wool block, and a carved pumpkin placed atop each other. The color of the Golem’s coat will depend on the color of the wool used.

You can turn both new golems – the Copper and the Tuff ones – into a fashionable statue.

Moobloom – is a flower cow. It’s also an absolutely peaceful mob, which is always friendly to the player. This is mostly a decorative mob, a kind of response to the mushroom cow. It also gives absolutely common milk just like the vanilla cow, and the only difference is its look.

You can uncharm Moobloom back to the vanilla cow by just cutting its flowers with scissors.

Neutral mobs

Neutral mobs include those mobs that are generally not aggressive to the player but will defend themselves if in danger. The mod adds the Mauler, who’d rather eat all your chickens than attack the player, and the Glare to this category. The Glare is just a flying bush that lives in the Lush Caves.

Dangerous mobs

The Iceologer. An ice magician. 25 health hearts and extremely uncommon attacks – when fighting, he summons and drops ice blocks on the player. He’s not particularly strong but a very nasty opponent.

Drops emeralds, ice blocks, and the Totem of Freezing.

The Illusioner. An illusion magician. 25 hearts of health. Long-range attacks with a bow but can create an army of himself as soon as the player relaxes and gets closer, which encircles the player and keeps stuffing you with arrows from every side. He’s extremely difficult to hit because of the strong armor and the ability to mimic himself. Indeed, killing one of the six summoned mobs won’t be enough, you need to kill ALL of them, which isn’t easy at all, considering that the original will spawn six more while you’re killing one.

The Wildfire. The Nether World boss. 120 health hearths, can fly, shoot fireballs, and summon the common Blazes. It’s possible to defeat it, but it’s a really difficult mob with whom the player will spend a lot of unpleasant minutes.

Drops the Crown parts after his death. Upon collecting five such parts, you can use them to craft the Wildfire Crown. It’s not particularly good as armor but gives the permanent Fire Resistance effect, which will make your stay in the Nether much easier.

Items

Now, you can use copper to craft buttons for your mechanisms or lightning rods in any of the four available colors. Plus, you can also wax all these items, making them waxed.

Hives will now differ by the color of the wood they have been crafted from.

Besides, hives will become not only simple bee houses, but a full-fledged profession block for the Peasants as well. A new Profession – Beekeeper – will give the player the opportunity to sell flowers for emeralds and buy honey and various honey products, without taking risk to approach the bee hives.
