There is a huge amount of food available in Minecraft to replenish the health and hunger points of your character. From the very first minutes of the game, you need to constantly think about where to get more food, how to get it, and how to cook it. That is quite a standard process for Minecraft, which many players are used to, and despite the constant development of the game and updates by Mojang, it does not yet feature an adequate animation of eating food. Once the player takes any food, it just displayed until it disappears. But that is not quite right in terms of realism.…
The developer of the Eating Animation mod was also concerned with this issue and decided to add a special animation of eating food to Minecraft. So if you would like to make the game more realistic, be sure to add it to your build and check how this process looks now. Even though this mod is small, the changes brought by it are quite significant, especially given that Mojang is unlikely to ever change that. Thanks to such add-ons, you can change almost any in-game function, mechanic, appearance, and biome, and Eating Animation is also quite noteworthy in this regard — otherwise, it would not have more than nine million downloads!
As you have already understood, the Eating Animation add-on brings only one visual effect to the game, but it is extremely important, given that we have to eat constantly, no matter what biome or dimension the player is in. Even if you play using other mods, you still have to spend food, vegetables, and different types of dishes to replenish your character's health points and reduce its hunger. But the standard animation did not look particularly realistic! Now, everything will change, and eating will look completely different, even if you do not have shaders installed.
How does it work? Suppose you took a piece of fried meat in your hands. While previously you just held the same object while eating, now its dimensions will change before your eyes. The size of the food gradually decreases, and once your character eats everything, the item disappears. That is visible not only to you but also to everyone around you. Moreover, with the help of such an animation, you will now be able to act out various plots in Minecraft and capture full-fledged videos. This mod is a true find for content creators, as they can now make realistic sketches during which several characters are having lunch or just replenishing their health points.
The Eating Animation mod is activated by default immediately after its installation. You just add it to your build and enjoy the new animation. It works with almost any type of food featured in the vanilla game version and is slightly different for each of them. Thus, the fish is being slightly reduced in size, whereas the meat is literally being torn into pieces like the bread is. All the users around you will also see how much food is left. However, in fact, it disappears right when you use it, and the animation is shown after the event. Say, when you take bread in your hand and eat it, everyone sees an animation of it gradually becoming smaller. Still, the item itself has already disappeared from your inventory from the very beginning, given that you used it.
Summing it up, we can conclude that the Eating Animation mod perfectly complements the overall functionality in terms of animation and visual effect enhancement. And if you have also installed some shaders, custom mods, and libraries to improve graphics, you will get a particularly vivid and bright picture. Be sure to take full advantage of the Eating Animation add-on and capture high-quality videos while eating different types of food. By the way, you will now have a new goal: to test all the food in Minecraft to see all the new animations, compare how they differ from each other, and evaluate which are better and which are worse.
The Eating Animation add-on is available for Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric and practically does not load your system. You can safely run it on even a weak PC, and you will hardly notice any FPS drops or performance issues. If you would like to add even more animation options to the game, you can install the following mods: Mo Bends (more realistic character movements, more smoothness), Wavey Capes (realistic capes that will wave when the player moves), Cave Dust (dust particles in caves), Player Animator (one of the basic animation mods for Minecraft, the main library). This list is far from complete, but it is enough to transform the game in a couple of clicks.
