The Edge Fortress is an important dungeon in the game of Minecraft, where you can find a portal to the Edge. This may be one of the most important parts of the gameplay at the initial stage of survival, which allows the player to enter a new dimension, kill the Edge dragon, find the first Elytras, and gain a huge amount of experience. At the same time, the fortress itself isn’t limited to the portal. Here, you can find many chests with food, various types of armor, including valuable materials (iron, gold, diamonds, and so on). But not all players are satisfied with the standard options generated in Minecraft, so third-party mods appear to significantly change the principle of the dungeon generation. In this review, we’ll tell you about one of them.

The DnT Stronghold Overhaul add-on will completely redesign the Edge fortresses in the Minecraft game, adding more than 400 different rooms and chambers. 5 different types of generation have been added, which give the game different structures, where you’ll need to search for chests and loot, fight mobs, and use your parkour skills. It usually takes several hours to complete the fortress because there are a lot of different locations where you can find valuable loot, including diamonds. But at the same time, it will also be important for the player to find that very room where the portal to the Edge is located, since this is the main goal for any character, who can then teleport to another dimension.

So, the developer of DnT Stronghold Overhaul has completely changed the standard generation system, which allows you to transform these dungeons in a couple of clicks and get completely different views that you couldn’t even dream of before. Since most players come to the fortress searching for a portal to the Edge, the developer has devoted a lot of time to this room to make it look more majestic and colorful. In the central part, there are several passages to the bridges, which may even be partially destroyed. Here, you’ll also see beautiful improvised hanging lamps with candles. They perfectly match the overall interior and complement it.

Another important detail is library rooms connected to the center, and here, you can also see several spawners necessary for spawning mobs. They protect these locations from unwanted visitors, but it won’t be difficult for the player to eliminate all the obstacles. There will also be several staircases and passageways, prison rooms and so on. According to the developer, after installing the DnT Stronghold Overhaul mod, 417 different rooms will appear in the fortress, and each of them is unique in its own way. Just imagine the work this man has done to integrate so many new and redesigned rooms into Minecraft. Indeed, this isn’t the only mod made by this developer: he added tools to change fortresses in the Nether, dungeons in the Edge, and witch houses, and we’ve made detailed reviews of these mods.

The next one by importance is probably the lobby, which is located near the central part. Here, you’ll see laid tables, carpets, a large number of hanging lamps, passages between locations, and many other rooms. It looks nice and unusual, especially after the vanilla version of the game, which isn’t particularly outstanding. There are also staircases connecting several rooms, and stairs themselves – are a real piece of architectural art, because the mod developer has perfectly matched the shapes and colors, and made everything in a single style.

If you go further, you’ll see huge gates and columns, and a portal to the Nether in the distance. All these columns are located in lava, so you need to be careful when visiting such locations. With the changes introduced by DnT Stronghold Overhaul, lava will flow literally from all sides, but the tall columns emphasize the overall style and charm of such buildings, so if you decide to visit a location with fortresses in Minecraft, danger is your second name. It actually looks really bright and unusual: you can feel like being trapped in some kind of closed underground castle, and you need to find the main boss to complete the mission.
