Review Coastal Waves

Beautiful Waves in Water Biomes

The Minecraft game world offers a vast number of different biomes available for exploration. These can include wastelands, forests, fields, mountains, underground caves, and much more. There are also various types of rivers, lakes, oceans, and players often prefer to build a house on the water, playing around with a specific style (modern houses, medieval castles, fantasy structures, resembling a "Water World," and so on). But have you ever wondered why the game has weather conditions, wind is present, but no waves? This could be achieved with shaders, but such effects often heavily load the game's build.

The Coastal Waves mod adds real waves to the game that look amazing in any biome, whether it is a desert beach or a taiga. Now, players can transform the Minecraft world by adding real waves that surround the endless waters and the shores of nearby beaches. And it doesn’t matter what purpose the player has when adding these effects: they will be a delight at any time of the day, regardless of the weather conditions or the biome they are in. The mod developer worked hard to create truly colorful waves that resemble realistic ones as much as possible, and if you're interested, we offer a detailed review!

Have you missed realistic waves in Minecraft? Would you like to change this but without using shaders? Then this mod from the review is definitely for you. The developer has added beautiful and graceful effects that look great in any water biome. Waves appear near beaches, and the appearance differs depending on the location. For instance, sandy beaches will look different compared to water biomes with forests. Given the many different location types in the vanilla world, you'll have plenty of options. The key is to find any water biome, and the waves will appear.

It’s hard to convey the full atmosphere of these new effects in screenshots, but we’ve tried to include as many as possible so you can get an idea of how they work in the vanilla world. Look how awesome the waves look in a cubic world: long, short, with different curves, and when sunlight falls and there are shadows, the scene looks completely different. It’s perfect for both regular survival and for creating full-screen animations or YouTube videos where you need "juicy" and vibrant graphics in the cubic world. Additionally, this does not affect game performance, which is important for users with low-end computers.

The Coastal Waves mod adds another important feature – the ability to wash up blocks and items on the shore. Waves can bring different elements, dropping them on the shore, and the developer has even added a separate configuration file where you can list specific blocks. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Your character stands on the ocean shore, and at a certain moment, waves bring some items or blocks. If you need to add a chance for rare artifacts, you can do that as well. On multiplayer Minecraft servers, such mechanics are encouraged to keep players engaged.

After installing the mod, you will have several parameters that you can edit:

· For blocks (wave_blocks) - a list of blocks that can be washed up on the shore by waves in any biome;

· For liquids (has_waves) - a list of liquids where waves can appear. You can edit this parameter, for example, by removing lava or any other liquids from third-party mods;

· For biomes (has_waves) - a list of biomes where waves can appear. For instance, you can remove wave generation near savannahs, snowy biomes, and so on.

The entire process of changing parameters is done through the game console. The player can also set the default wave height through the configuration file. This is necessary for cases when the water is very high above the biome, such as when creating artificial water pools for automatic farms or mechanisms in the game world. Here, each player will have the choice and opportunity for detailed customization. For multiplayer servers, this is a great feature, as it allows players to enjoy many items and blocks dropped from the sea waves. It also encourages users to fish more often.

This turned out to be a very cool and multifunctional mod that provides not only visual images and pleasant effects but also the possibility of washing up any items on the shore, fine-tuning for waves, biomes where items and waves appear, and much more. Any player can customize this addition to their liking and make the most of its advantages without any technical skills or mod setup knowledge.
