Review Blue Power

Blue Power – open new opportunities in the Redstone and l world!

If you aren’t new to the world of Minecraft mods, then you may remember such a legendary mod as RedPower. It allowed you to do completely incredible things with Redstone; the most amazing thing for that time’s players was the ability to lay the signal vertically either up or down. The time passed, and the developer hasn’t released a single update, but the work is still in demand, since everyone knows how well it interacts with Computer Craft. But now we have concerned people who have developed exactly the same mod for newer versions and under a different, albeit very similar, name - Blue Power.

Although being a direct copy of the legendary mod, this project hasn’t been completed and is still under development. However, there is something to see, albeit a little. The author tried to copy everything exactly as it used to be before. From now on, working with Redstone, or rather laying lines with it, is not a problem because you can do it using a single cable, although it is impossible now, but in the future …

The Blue Power mod review

Let’s start with the most important thing – ways to transmit the Redstone signal. According to the author’s idea, you should have one very large and thick cable, which contains a lot of wires of different colors. It’s they that will be used to transmit a signal; each of them takes one shade only. However, this hasn’t been implemented yet; the cable itself has already been made, but you won’t be able to transmit something through it, as there are no small detailed required for this purpose.
This is how the main and thick wire looks like:

And this is how various logic elements used in the Redstone schemes look like. There should be a lot more of them, but the mod hasn’t yet been completed.

Other elements should be inserted into the rightmost tile, which can make it a straight track, or vice versa, rotate the signal, split it, and so on. In addition, you can insert a lamp, which will light up when the signal is active. And it will be extremely compact.

Such things are made from the main plate, which you can get from roasted stone and a bit of blue dust. Here are a few examples; you can find the rest of the examples in the game, just install JEI/REI.

Operating mechanisms

The main ones – are workbenches and an alloy furnace.

The workbench is convenient because it has a small inner buffer for items, and it saves the recipe that you uploaded. If you exit the regular workbench, it will transfer items to your inventory, but this one will simply leave them in the crafting grid, which is incredibly convenient. In addition, this type of table can get items from its storage. This is incredibly useful; for example, in order not to keep putting unstable items in the crafting grid, you should upload them to the internal storage. They’ll be automatically taken from there.

And this is an upgraded version, which can interact with funnels and pipes. In fact, this is an auto craft, which has recently been added to the vanilla game. You upload a recipe, and it’s automatically crafted at the funnel’s request. Oh, I remember the project table was used for all the guides before, but it was only possible to save the recipe on paper…

Well, the last on the list is an alloy plant. Here, you’ll craft all the necessary items; it’s here that the entire mod starts from. You can find the recipes yourself in the game; there are a lot of them.

A pipe logistics system

It was another very cool mod mechanic, which hasn’t yet been implemented here. You could transmit items through the pipes, pumping them out of mechanisms, or vice versa, delivering them to the necessary ones. It worked especially well with other mods, mostly technical ones. It was a real breakthrough for that time, because filters, buffers, and other features were introduced.

Here, you see all the machines that can interact with pipes. There’s no point in talking about each of them separately. We’ve written their names; anyone who wants to can guess. And it won’t hurt you to log into the game and check it out.
And here are, actually pipes themselves:

Tools and facade blocks

Blue Power adds quite a lot of new items, such as pickaxes, shovels, and so on to the game. You can craft them from new materials, which we’ll talk about later. In fact, these are just items that you can craft if you’ve found a particular resource. Instead of digging iron, you can, for example, mine amethysts, and make a good pickaxe of about the same level.

A sickle and a hacksaw should be mentioned separately.

You’ll need it for cutting a huge amount of foliage on trees and tall grass.

And this small saw will give you the opportunity to saw blocks into smaller parts. This allows you to hide different wiring or pipes, as well as to make the construction process much more diverse.

Colorful lighting sources

There’s not much to tell you here. It just adds a lot of different light bulbs, which can also be inverted right away, from the factory, so to speak.

They are often used for other mods, when players want to indicate the failure of a nuclear reactor or something else. Well, we shouldn’t forget about common lighting of the territory either.

The rest of resources

Naturally, the mod adds its proprietary materials, which are later used in the game. There are quite a lot of them, and there’s no point in telling about all of them. Here are a few examples.

This is where our review ends. As for today, the author is successfully transferring all those mechanics that were available before. Although it hasn’t been completely ready yet, we can confidently say that the work is quite high-quality. Now, you’ll definitely have no problems with transmitting the Redstone signal, at least when the developer completes his Blue Power project. Be sure to install this mod and give it a try!
