Animalistic

Animalistic — a relatively small mod that will add 7 unique pets to the game, which will diversify and enhance your survival. For the mod to operate smoothly, you’ll need to install an additional library GeckoLib. The mod is available on two versions of the game only — 1.19.2 и 1.18.2.

How to summon pets

You can summon pets in a simple, but rather expensive way. First, you’ll need to craft a special generator table, which is crafted of three diamonds, a crying obsidian, two logs, one chest, one book, and a bottle with a soul. Next, you’ll need to go to the Nether to get Soul Sand. After getting the sand, you need to take the soul out of it — use a bottle filled with water for it. Pick up the bottle of water, click on Soul Sand with the right mouse button. After that, your bottle with water will turn into a bottle with a soul.

The generator table interface is very simple, since it has 3 slots only. The first slot is for the crafted bottle with a soul, the second one on the right — for a saddle. Now, all you need is to get the right crystal to craft your new pet. There are 7 pets and 7 crystals in total; each of them implies a particular pet. You can also craft crystals on a workbench using rather expensive materials.

Red Panda

By using the red talisman, you’ll craft a magical Red Panda. The Red Panda appears from the generator table and will become your pet as soon as you saddle it. As soon as you saddle the pet, you’ll get a new achievement.

The Red Panda has 200 health points. Despite its name, the Red Panda doesn’t look like a panda, but makes very realistic sounds. This pet can move very quickly across the terrain and jump as high as 7 blocks up. If you saddle the Red Panda, you can ride it extremely quickly using the CTRL key by default. The Red Panda can easily cross a pond, since it can swim. However, sometimes the pet can sink and die there after a while (in this case, you can use a leash to save the pet). Besides, your pet will always protect you from any danger. The Red Panda can easily cope with any opponent, since it inflicts severe damage. You should also know that you’ll never lose your tamed pet, because it’ll always follow you and sometimes even teleport to you. You can make your pet sit down by holding SHIFT and clicking the right mouse button. This, the pet won’t follow you. If the Panda is wounded, you can replenish its health using a piece of meat. You’ll also need meat to breed the Pandas.

Tiger

You can craft the tiger summoning talisman using the bottle of souls, a diamond block, three flaming blocks, and four colorful eyes. The Tiger is a ground mob that also can transport its master. However, the Tiger is much larger than the previous pet — the Panda. Thanks to its size, the Tiger moves much faster and can be accelerated by pressing CTRL. Again, due to its size, the Tiger can jump higher than the Panda — up to 10 blocks up. The Tiger isn’t injured when jumping, just as its owner if he doesn’t jump off the Tiger during the jump. Despite its size, the Tiger has the same number of health points as the Panda — 200. But unlike the Panda, the Tiger inflicts far more damage and can easily cope with very dangerous opponents. When riding the Tiger, you can use the G key to order it to attack with its powerful paws. Just like the Panda, the Tiger can be ordered to sit down by holding SHIFT + the RMB. From time to time the Tiger starts to growl extremely realistically. The Tiger eats all kinds of meat — it is this kind of food that you need to breed the Tigers.

Large Bat

The next pet added by this mod is the Large Bat. You can summon the Large Bat using the purple talisman, which is crafted of 1 diamond block, a soul, glowing eyes and three amethyst blocks. The Bat is much larger than the player, but smaller than the previous pet. The Large Bat also has 200 health points and inflicts significant damage. Taming this pet is just as easy as all the previous ones — all you need is to saddle the Large Bat. But unlike the previous pets, this one is not a ground, but an air beast, so you’ll be able to fly after taming the Large Bat. To fly, you need to saddle the bat and control the flight using the mouse and holding the space bar. However, you won’t get a full-fledged flight, since your pet will get tired after flying for a while and start to descend. The Large Bat has a unique ability — it will give you a part-time night vision effect if you press the G key. Just as other pets from this mod, you can make the Large Bat sit down on the ground by pressing SHIFT + the RMB. In this position, the Large Bat covers itself with its large wings and sits quietly and almost motionlessly. You can replenish the Large Bat’s health and breed the pet using the spider eye.

Mistic Owl

The next pet is the Mystic Owl. You can summon the Mystic Owl using the pink talisman, which is crafted of one phantom membrane block, a diamond block, a bottle with a soul, and four colorful eyes. Just as all the previous pets, this one has 200 health points and 6 armor points. As any owl, this pet occasionally makes peculiar sounds. The mystical owl is relatively small — it’s a little larger than the player. The Owl got its name because of its look, since the front part of its body looks like an owl and the back part resembles a hippogriff. The Owl has wings, but it can’t fly. But if you press the space bar, the Mystic Owl will jump higher than 20 blocks, and then begin to land smoothly using its small wings. You can ride this pet on the ground, accelerating with CTRL key. Unfortunately, the Mystic owl doesn’t have any unique abilities, but you can order it to «sit down» just as other pets. Just as all the previous pets, the Owl can protect you, but it doesn’t inflict as much damage to the enemy. You can use raw meat to breed the Mystic Owls or replenish their health.

Duck

Using the white talisman, you can summon an unusual pet — the Duck. To craft the white talisman, you will need 4 units of glowing eyes, a bottle with a soul, one diamond block, and three feather blocks. You can neither ride nor fly the Duck. Besides, despite its 200 health points, the Duck can’t protect you from enemies because of its small size. Instead of protection and transportation, you can use the Duck for increasing storage capacity for resources. Approach the Duck and click it with the RMB to open a special duck inventory. The inventory includes 21 slots. In fact, the Duck is a moving chest, and given that the player has no limits on tamed pets, the Duck can be very useful. To replenish health or breed the Duck, you will need common wheat seeds. Asin case of all the previous pets, you can order the Duck to rest by holding SHIFT + the RMB.

Blue Bird

You can summon the Blue Bird using the blue talisman, which is crafted of four glowing eyes, three blocks of lapis lazuli, one bottle with a soul, and one diamond block. This pet is slightly larger than the player and has 200 health points. By saddling the Blue Bird, you can easily fly, and its ice attack will make you almost invulnerable. All you need to fly is to saddle the bird and press the space bar. After it flaps its wings, you only need to control the flight direction using the mouse. The Blue Bird is the fastest pet that can help you cover huge distances in no time. To use the ice attack, press the G key. The Ice attack inflicts 5 damage points and has no use delay. You can order the Blue Bird to rest. Use any kind of meat to replenish the Blue Bird’s health or breed the pet.

Mechanical Wolf

The Mechanical Wolf is one of the most unusual pets added by this mod. You can summon the Mechanical Wolf using the gray talisman, which is crafted of four glowing eyes, three iron blocks, one diamond block, and a bottle with a soul. The Mechanical Wolf has 200 health points and inflicts significant damage. The Mechanical Wolf is smaller than the Tiger, but looks far more dangerous. The pet got its name for a reason. The Wolf is really mechanical — you can see it from specific sounds it makes when moving, jumping or running. It’s very difficult to understand that it belongs to robots by its appearance, but still it’s possible because of the gears spinning on his paws. By saddling the Mechanical Wolf, you can use it to quickly cover long distances. However, the Mechanical Wolf jumps very low if compared with the tiger — up to 4 blocks high. But this pet has another advantage over the Tigers, namely its retractable weapon. If you press the G key, two guns will appear from the Wolf’s side accompanied by mechanical sounds, followed by a double shot with metal arrows. One arrow takes up to 4 health points from the enemy. If you shoot while moving, only one gun will fire.
