Review Altered Damage (Fabric)

Configuring Weapon Damage

A sword is commonly believed to be the main weapon in Minecraft, and the player has to craft a stone or iron item at the very start to defend from mobs, since «hand hitting» is not the most effective tactic. Thousands of different mods are being created for Minecraft, adding new types of weapons, swords, bows, and hundreds of different versions of cold steel weapons. But most of them have certain basic characteristics, although the sword can look very cool, stylish, and «rich». If you want to change the weapons’ parameters quickly, both all at once and some of them, you can install the Altered Damage mod, which is perfectly suitable for these purposes!

The Altered Damage mod allows you to change damage modifiers in Minecraft, both for all weapons in general and for specific items. It provides a really wide choice for any player who decided to change the standard combat system in the game. There are many different settings so that each player can adjust the parameters to their needs and choose the best modifying option. If you are interested in such a tool, we recommend reading this review to the end and see what this mod offers in the Minecraft game!

According to the developer of the add-on, Altered Damage is part of the Serilum’s Customization Bundle mod. This is a minimalistic customizable tool that allows you to change the damage received by players or any mobs in Minecraft in a couple of clicks. You can either decrease or increase the parameters. You can also change fatal damage and starvation configuration and much more. There are plenty of settings that are easily comprehendible for any player, even if you have never installed anything before. In general, almost all add-ons by the developer Serilum’s have fine-tuned configuration and an extensive configuration file.

You don’t like certain weapon in the game and feel like changing its damage? Or for example, you just want to make the vanilla world more hardcore and diversify the gameplay? The Modified Damage mod will tackle this task perfectly. For example, here you can increase the difficulty in a couple of clicks, respectively, mobs will receive by times less damage with each hit. The same is applicable to other modifiers, both for players and mobs. You can fight not only with creatures in Minecraft, but also with real players in arenas (PvP), respectively, certain customizable modifiers have also been introduced for this category. And if you don’t comprehend which parameter is responsible for a certain thing, look at the information below:

· alterEntityDamageTaken (default = true): Changes the default damage in the game that another entity receives. Applies to all mobs available in the current version of Minecraft;

· alterPlayerDamageTaken (default = true):Changes the parameters of the damage that another player receives;

· entityDamageModifier (default = 2.0, min 0.01, max 20.0): A global damage modifier of the damage that entities receive. For example, you need to upgrade the characteristics of all mobs quickly. All you’ll need is to increase the parameters and the creatures in the game will be stronger;

· playerDamageModifier (default = 2.0, min 0.01, max 20.0): A global damage modifier of the damage that players receive. The same as in the previous version, but all the changes will be applied to real Minecraft players!

In general, it’s a convenient and user-friendly tool for customizing damage parameters in the game. With this mod, you can increase or decrease the difficulty of Minecraft in a couple of clicks, both in online mode and in regular survival, if you play solo on a map. You can even record certain episodes of your passing Minecraft under different conditions. The developer has also added another parameter to the settings, limiting the mod’s operation if the player receives fatal damage. Accordingly, you won’t be able to die instantly. All configurations are fixed at 2 by default, but you can change these parameters at any time.

Damage and battle with mobs are one of the important mechanics in the game of Minecraft. So, no matter what biome you are in at the moment, you’ll still have to fight creatures, constantly attack them, defend yourself, explore new locations, defeat bosses. And if you also add new mods to your build, then the Altered Damage add-on will become an indispensable assistant in testing various techniques and mobs. Use all the features of this add-on and try playing with the standard settings at first to understand how vanilla Minecraft differs from the default configuration. Then you can increase the difficulty and try passing different locations and dungeons.
