YUNG's Better Dungeons (Forge)

This mod adds three new dungeons to Minecraft: Catacombs with a large number of hostile zombies, Fortresses of the Undead with hordes of skeletons, and Spider Caves. They are basically modified and expanded monster rooms, which now look really dangerous and threatening, and the amount of loot in them has been increased accordingly.

Spider Caves

It is quite easy to come across a spider cave: these structures often spawn on the surface, and it is almost impossible to miss them, as nowhere in the game world will you find so many cobwebs in one place. Besides the cobwebs, inside, you will find white wool and chests with a lot of really useful loot — and, of course, spiders, given that it is a spider dungeon.

Catacombs

It is quite a large dungeon, the entrances to which are also generated on the surface of the game world. Endless dark corridors with shelves that resemble funeral grounds, zombie heads in the corners, gloomy candles that give almost no light, chests, and hordes of zombies await you inside. The latter are indeed numerous there, like the spawners.

You should be very careful in the catacombs, as at some point, it may seem to you that there are no enemies at all, but they are actually a little higher and already angry at your presence in their chunk.

The catacombs are not only long but also multi-level, which is not too noticeable, given that they are extremely unvaried both in terms of mobs and design. However, the danger lies precisely in this, as you can get lost and lose the entrance forever after just a couple of turns.

Fortresses of the Undead

It is both the most beautiful and frightening dungeon added by the mod. It is indeed underground fortresses, which are large, gloomy, and creepy. They can boast all the attributes of a good horror: skeletal heads on spikes, naturally appearing skeletons, skeleton spawners, blood traces of redstone on the floor and tables, etc.

In fact, completing such a fortress is more difficult a task than exploring all the other dungeons. The skeleton archers will hit you from long distances, and it will be not that easy to find all the spawners before you die. However, in terms of the number of loot, the fortress is the leader among all the dungeons — there are so many chests inside that you will literally get tired of checking them all. Besides, other blocks, such as smithing tables, crafting tables, anvils, and even jukeboxes, will also be of interest to collectors.

Mini Dungeons

Besides the large and difficult-to-complete dungeons, you will also come across small premises. They differ from the vanilla monster rooms by a scarce design and atmosphere, as well as additional game blocks: you can find crafting tables, anvils, smithing tables, and other useful objects there.

In a sense, the mod may seem slightly imbalanced due to the abundance of really useful loot, which is impossible to get at the start in such quantities — but do not get confused by that. In fact, there is nothing more than what could be found in other dungeons. The items are indeed slightly more numerous, but it is almost impossible to complete any of these dungeons without dying at least ten times in a single corridor.
