The UsefulFood Reborn mod adds over 70 new crafting recipes to Minecraft, each offering different types of provisions. These can be made using both familiar vanilla ingredients and completely new items added exclusively by this mod. You’ll be able to craft pies, cakes, cookies, new types of fish, unique potions (drinks), soups, sandwiches, various sweets, and much more. The mod also adds new mobs that drop unique items. We included some recipe screenshots here, but there are many more — we recommend downloading the mod to explore the full list of crafts yourself.

In Minecraft, players constantly need food to restore health and hunger, but vanilla offers only a small selection. Mostly, you craft baked potatoes, cooked meat, and bread. If you have a big wheat farm, you’ll mainly rely on bread. Over time, though, you want more variety, and this mod will help with that. It adds over 70 different dish recipes — from simple sandwiches to new cakes, unique juices, and enchanted drinks. The selection is really wide, and each dish has its own texture.

Most recipes use the same ingredients as vanilla but in different proportions. For example, some require familiar soup, sugar, or bottles of water. Still, the variety greatly expands, letting you craft about ten different dishes at almost any stage of the game. Even early in survival, you’ll have choices with just a few ingredients like wheat and potatoes, crafting different baked foods that restore a good amount of HP.

Also important: UsefulFood Reborn is a revamped version. The earlier UsefulFood had about 60 dishes and over 300,000 downloads. The new version currently has 30,000 downloads but is actively updated. At the time of writing, a version for Minecraft 1.21.5 was available, offering a huge list of food recipes. Now players can create as much food as they want regardless of biome. This adds motivation to carry more food in PvP or exploration, and gives farmers new goals.

Farmers especially benefit from this mod: they’ll grow different crops, craft various items and dishes, and constantly keep certain “ingredients” ready. Each food item has its own stats, and some stack while others don’t! After a few hours of playing with UsefulFood Reborn, you’ll roughly know which dishes are the most useful at different game stages. Don’t forget about bottles of milk, coffee, and different types of juice.

In general, this mod adds a really large collection of items, with every dish or food item carefully detailed. Not only are textures well made for inventory preview, but also 3D models. The developer balanced all stats to avoid gameplay imbalance from having many similar dishes. If you add kitchen furniture mods, you can build full modern kitchens or even become a chef in an improvised restaurant — it’s all up to you!

Only about 5% of the recipes are shown here — the rest are best explored yourself using JEI for Forge, NeoForge, or REI for Fabric-based packs. This way, you can quickly browse all recipes and create many dishes. Unfortunately, the mod doesn’t add tooltip stats for each dish, so you’ll have to check manually!
