The Minecraft game world is rich in various biomes, but most of them look similar and, alas, don’t offer anything new. If you like areas with a lot of trees, such as oak or birch forests, but strive for more variety, we recommend that you try installing the Tax' Tree Giant add-on. That’s what we reviewed, because this mod will add giant tree species to the game, which are very different from the vanilla version. This applies to most biomes in Minecraft. In the review, you can see screenshots from different parts of the game world: how do they differ from each other and what are their features.

The Tax' Tree Giant mod adds giant trees to most Minecraft biomes that differ from all the others. Now, you’ll get not only an oak forest with tall and massive trunks, but other locations as well: savannah, jungle, and cherry biome. Just imagine how the game world will be transformed after installing this add-on: you can build a house on a tree right away, decorate it, use it to create a unique spawn on the server, and somehow refine it. In general, there are many options, and it’s up for each player to decide what to do next. The main goal of this mod is to diversify the Minecraft game world and add more giant trees so that the player can enjoy such an abundance of large structures. Before, in the vanilla version of the game, you could find such types of trunks in the forest with a dark oak or in the jungle only, but their sizes still are inferior to those that you’ll see in Tax' Tree Giant. Look at the screenshots attached to this article: the appearance and perception of forests will totally change, because a giant tree can now appear in any biome, attracting attention literally from the first minutes of the game.

Nowadays, the Tax' Tree Giant mod adds 4 new giant trees, which belong to the following types: spruce, cherry, oak, and jungle. Each type has its own characteristics, generation mechanics, appearance, height, and other parameters. Moreover, they are constantly and randomly generated: there will never be two identical trees in the game, and if you find a similar structure in the game, then don’t skip it: be sure to mark iy so that you can return there at any time. We’ve reviewed each type of tree in the game in short paragraphs to show you the difference between all the structures, and what the advantage of each of them is.

Giant Cherry Tree

In the cherry forest, you’ll now be able to find a giant tree, which is usually located in the middle of the biome. This is a relatively new territory in the game, but after installing Tax' Tree Giant, you can find this structure here. It’s characterized by large size: a beautiful tall tree with long roots. It’s illuminated on all levels, and there are plenty of plants and flowers growing below it. If the player finds this structure, they will immediately want to build a house or something similar. You can even build an entire settlement in you want by starting the construction process from this giant tree.

Giant Jungle Tree

The appearance of the jungle tree is even bigger than the previous version. Just look at the height of this structure: you can climb it with Elytras or vines only, if they reach the ground. There is a cluster of foliage at the top, where you can easily hide and make a separate room. Here, you’ll also see a thick trunk, inside which you can make a ladder, which won’t be visible at all if you hide it in one or even several blocks. Just like the previous version, it’s illuminated on all levels and vines hang from the tops, but only some of them reach the ground, mostly because the mountainous terrain.

Giant Oak Tree

Oak is the most common material in Minecraft, which is mostly used for making wood, crafting various structures and blocks. The first thing you’ll most likely find after installing the Tax' Tree Giant mod is a giant oak tree in the cubic world. It’s several times smaller than the previous versions, but it also looks colorful and unusual. The trunk isn’t particularly thick with plenty of foliage, and the area is illuminated from all sides from below. If the player decides to build a house here, they will have to make the structure more compact or just build nearby. This location isn’t suitable as a «tree house».

Giant Spruce Tree

The last on our list is the spruce option. This is the smallest structure added by the Tax' Tree Giant. It spawns in the spruce forest, but differs from the rest of the trees, as it’s about 3 times higher. You can decorate this plant, for example, with Christmas tree toys or luminous objects, so that the tree stands out from all the others. Actually, it’s a good option that you can use for different purposes.

As you can see, the capabilities of the Tax' Tree Giant mod aren’t that numerous, but they add very interesting tree shapes in the vanilla world of Minecraft. You’ll never see such structures in standard generation, but the developer manually created the shape of each tree here, only then implementing a specific algorithm for spawning these structures. If you can’t find new locations in a regular survival mode, try using /locate to search for it, for example, /locate structure taxtg:giant_spruce_tree. Thus, you’ll be able to teleport right to the giant tree.
