Simple Farming

It is a mod that adds even more crops to Minecraft. With it, you will be able to feel like a real farmer, growing various vegetables, creating orchards, equipping whole grape fields, and, of course, trying your hand at cooking and brewing.

Plants

It is very easy to get the new seeds even at the initial stages of the game. Vegetables and fruits in this mod do not grow on the surface, and it is impossible to find them naturally, as in the same Farmer's Delight. Even so, you will be able to, firstly, buy seeds from farmer merchants, secondly, look in the chests in the villages, and thirdly, just break the grass blocks. Indeed, besides wheat seeds, the latter will drop other, more useful seeds.

However, not all the seeds require extraction. Some will still generate naturally. These are fruit trees that can be broken to get saplings for further planting in the place you need, as well as some wild crops, such as cumin, ginger, chicory, marshmallows, and quinoa. You will also be able to grow them on your farms, but they do not require beds and just grow on the ground. To get their fruits, you will not have to break and replant them — it will be enough just to take the fruiting part.

The mod brings nine fruit trees to the game: apple, plum, pear, banana, mango, olives, apricot, cherry, and orange. They are notable for their smaller size and thin trunk. When you break a ripe tree, you will get up to nine fruits and several saplings. However, if you do not need new saplings, you can just hit the fruits with your hand and get a harvest without having to destroy a tree. To stimulate their growth, it is recommended to plant the trees at a distance of three blocks from each other.

Four new shrubs can be collected or used as a quite effective fence for your base. Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries can be found naturally in almost all biomes.

The new grains — corn, rye, barley, oats, and rice — as well as soybeans and peanuts will also periodically generate and be useful to you for creating butter and beer.

Another new and unique plant is cotton. Thanks to it, the need to breed sheep completely disappears, as you will be able to craft threads from cotton and wool from the threads.

You will also be able to grow the most common vegetables: cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, peppers, eggplants, and many other useful products.

As for the melons, you will be able to grow honey and musk melons.

Grapes

Growing grapes is a whole art that will require some effort. To do that, you will need to plant at least two seeds at a one-block distance from each other.

After you see the bushes, you will need to place a fence block between them and wait until it is covered with a vine. This process is not fast and can sometimes take up to three game days.

After the vine covers your fences, you can expect the appearance of grapes. Fortunately, it is not necessary to touch the vine for harvesting, as the fruits grow under it and can be easily collected by hand.

Fermentation

To master the craft of fermentation and start brewing alcoholic beverages, you will need to create a special device — the fermenter.

After that, open its GUI, place the necessary ingredients and empty bottles there, and wait until the fermentation process is over. As a result, you will get various drinks: sake, vodka, beer, whiskey, and others, depending on the ingredients. The consumed drinks impose various effects: say, sake gives the Haste effect for 30 seconds. The number of bottles depends on the number of ingredients.

Some liquids, such as jam, vinegar, or oil, are made in the crafting table, not in the fermenter. Thus, you will be able to make oil by combining an empty bottle and olives. In turn, to get jam, combine a bottle and any berries, be they vanilla or new.

Foodstuffs

The mod adds as many as 30 different new dishes, nine drinks, and jam, which always remains just jam, regardless of what it is made of.
