What do players usually do in Minecraft? Some prefer building houses, others actively breed livestock, some grind experience and apply enchantments to various types of tools, armor, and weapons in order to obtain the best possible items. But there are also collectors who prefer gathering unique artifacts and items. For example, there is a limited number of music discs in the game world, especially rare ones, as well as spawners, elytra, and enchanted golden apples. There are plenty of such elements. And if you would like to add even more unique collectible items, you can try playing with the add-on that we discuss in this article!

The Plushie Buddies mod adds a large variety of plush toys to the game, which are small copies of already existing mobs in the blocky world. They look very cool, bright, and instantly attract players’ attention. And despite the fact that they have no practical purpose or functionality, this mod is especially popular among all other Minecraft add-ons. Why? At the very least because with such items, any player can diversify standard decor and place figurines however they like. On multiplayer servers, such tools add new functionality and encourage players to build collections, trade toys, sell them, and more.

Plush toys are full prototypes of existing mobs in the game. For example, pigs, cows, ghasts, creepers, rabbits, and many others. The developer tried to add most of the creatures you have previously seen in the vanilla version of the game, and the mod is updated promptly as new variants appear. For instance, the “Allay” is also available among the toys and looks quite decent. Not all figurines resemble their original mobs perfectly. For example, the creeper, pig, and bee look great, but the dog appears flattened, the rabbit is small, as is the mooshroom. Still, overall it fits the theme well, since they are not supposed to fully replicate every creature from the vanilla version of the game.

The Plushie Buddies modification adds more than 40 unique plush toys to the game, each with its own distinct appearance. These are standard mobs from regular Minecraft. No superheroes, cartoon characters, or characters from other universes. Everything here follows familiar themes. There are third-party mods that also add new types of figurines, which may include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Marvel universe, and much more, but those are completely different mods and must be installed separately. However, nothing prevents you from doing so—why not? For example, you can install Plushy+, Plushie Mod, and many others.

How do you obtain the figurines? They can be traded from shepherd villagers, but to do this, you will need to fully level up their available trade slots in order to unlock the section with toys. As a result, at first you will likely have to buy items you do not really need, and only during the trading process will you gain access to the toys. Each shepherd has their own list of figurines, and no one guarantees that a single NPC will provide access to all toys available in the game. This mechanic implies constant trading not only with villagers but also between players, encouraging them to interact with each other. For multiplayer servers, this mechanic is very important, as project owners need ways to engage users and give them activities to do.

Shepherds use a loom and spawn by default in any village of peaceful villagers. If you do not see such an NPC, it is recommended to place a workstation for them and feed at least a few villagers so that new ones are born and immediately acquire a new profession. In this case, you will definitely have shepherds in your village. You can trade toys only with master-level villagers. Such villagers have a diamond egg icon on their texture, indicating the maximum level. Therefore, you will have to trade with them extensively so that the last two trades are related to figurines. However, there are more than 40 toys in total, and you can trade only two with a single villager. Accordingly, you will inevitably have to trade with other players on the server.

Trading between NPCs and players is done using emeralds, at around 10 emeralds per plush toy. Not the cheapest option, but you can infect and cure an NPC several times to slightly reduce the price. At the maximum discount level, toys can be purchased for just 1 emerald each. This is extremely beneficial, although in newer versions of Minecraft this mechanic is restricted, and NPCs can only be cured a limited number of times to prevent such massive discounts. All toys are stackable, meaning a single stack can hold up to 64 items. Visually, they are small and stand out due to their colorful textures. They can be placed on surfaces, attached to walls, or mounted on other objects. They are used purely as decorative elements.

The list of available toys continues to expand as the game evolves; however, in the Plushie Buddies mod, you only have access to vanilla mobs that you see in the blocky world. Their miniature copies fully replicate their appearance. From there, it is up to you how to use this set of items: collecting, selling, trading, or using them as decoration. This mod has a huge number of downloads and is frequently installed on many projects to diversify players’ usual survival experience and expand gameplay possibilities.
