Changing Enderman Behavior

Every player has encountered endermen in Minecraft, and these creatures evoke mixed feelings among users. For example, when the mob does not bother you, it is cool, unusual, and beautiful, but if you accidentally look it in the eyes, a fight becomes inevitable. Moreover, even in enchanted armor, an enderman can deal enormous damage, which causes many players to die, especially beginners. As a result, any journey to the End is accompanied by serious risks, since these creatures can attack if you look them in the eyes. This mechanic has been built into the game by default since the very first versions and has hardly changed. But if you really want to, anything is possible…

The Passive Endermen modification allows you to change the behavior of endermen in the game, for example, to forbid them from picking up and carrying blocks or from attacking the player when they look them in the eyes. You decide yourself what to allow and what to disable by using a separate configuration file. The functionality of the mod is small, but extremely useful, especially in situations where endermen are not really needed in the game world and their constant attacks only interfere with comfortable gameplay. For example, there are plenty of servers where users focus on building, farming, enchanting items, clan wars, industrial systems, and so on.

Endermen in the game world will now be under your full control, because in just a few clicks you can restrict their functionality, while they will still wander through different biomes and dimensions, stand next to the player, and, if desired, you can even create a полноценную farm that provides certain loot, but the mobs will not be able to attack you. And here the developer has added several separate options to the configuration:

· preventEndermenFromTeleporting (default = true): if this option is enabled, endermen will no longer be able to teleport across the world and dimensions;

· preventEndermenFromGriefing (default = true): when this option is enabled, mobs will not be able to pick up blocks and carry them to other areas. In general, this option will be completely blocked, although in the vanilla version of the game they can “steal” almost any block;

· preventEndermenFromAttackingFirst (default = true): if this option is enabled, endermen will not attack players even if you look them in the eyes. After such changes, you can calmly visit the End in Minecraft and not worry about a possible death if you accidentally make eye contact with an enderman.

These types of mobs are often used only to obtain ender pearls, which are later needed to search for the End portal and to create potion ingredients, but endermen themselves are not particularly valuable to the player and are mainly used as farms, especially in the End, where they spawn in very large numbers. You now have the opportunity to fully control the behavior of such creatures by limiting their functionality. For example, with the default settings enabled, all these creatures will simply wander around the game world without causing any harm to players. And if you enter another dimension, they practically fill almost the entire End.

Endermen will become less dangerous for any category of users, both for ordinary players who have just started their survival journey and for advanced players with extensive experience fighting these creatures. In any case, they will no longer steal blocks from your territory or attack you, although each player can decide for themselves which options to enable or disable. If you do not want to dig into the settings, you can simply leave all options at their default values. When installing the Passive Endermen mod, the system leaves all settings enabled, and you can safely move around the game world without fearing that endermen will attack you.

As a result, this is a decent mod that offers small but useful assistance to all players on the server. If you have not yet tried playing with this add-on and endermen have become rather annoying, we recommend giving it a try and seeing how much the game world changes. Such features will also be useful when creating videos: players will be able to approach mobs without any problems, look them in the eyes, and interact with them. And if you also install some separate add-ons to change the animation and behavior of creatures, endermen will look completely different.
