Additional Backpacks for Minecraft

Collecting resources and moving across different locations is the main activity in Minecraft. The player has to constantly explore new biomes, visit dungeons, collect loot in chests, clean out treasuries, and dig ore and blocks in mines, but the standard inventory is often not enough. You want to collect as many useful blocks as possible but have to reject something. Different mods that expand the character's inventory are very helpful in such cases. They usually have the word 'backpack' or something of that sort in their names, and we have already considered many of them more than once.

This time, we are going to talk about an add-on called Packed Up, which is among the most promising and popular options. It adds several backpacks to Minecraft, and you will be able to carry more items in them than in the standard inventory. All the new storage means differ from each other both in terms of appearance and volume. They are also crafted differently and have special characteristics. So if you have long wanted to expand Steve's inventory in Minecraft, you can install Packed Up and see what this mod is capable of. As for us, we will try to describe each backpack type in more detail.

In total, the mod brings seven different backpack types to the game. They are accessed using special keys, which can be changed in the Minecraft game settings. Such functionality provides players with many new opportunities. Thus, you will now be able to carry more items and blocks, you will not have to create any chests or barrels to temporarily store resources (it will be enough to craft a capacious backpack and carry all your belongings with you), and you will be able to customize the backpacks' appearance. Let us now take a closer look at the items added by the Packed Up mod:

· Standard Backpack. It adds three additional storage rows (27 slots) and is made of leather.

· Iron Backpack. It adds four more rows for storing resources (36 slots) and requires iron for crafting.

· Copper Backpack. Like the above variant, it gives four extra rows for storage (36 slots) but requires copper. So there will now be another item in Minecraft for which you can use copper ingots.

· Golden Backpack. It has five rows for storage (45 slots) and is crafted from gold ingots.

· Silver Backpack. Like the above variant, it adds five slots for storing resources, blocks, and items (45 slots). We could not add a screenshot for it, though, as it requires a separate mod that adds silver and copper ingots to Minecraft.

· Diamond Backpack. It can boast seven storage rows (63 slots) but requires a certain number of diamonds for crafting

· Obsidian Backpack. This last and most capacious option has as many as eight rows for storing items (72 slots) but, of course, requires obsidian.

In the screenshots, you can see the crafting recipes for each item. We have tried to add all the possible recipes for backpacks added by the Packed Up mod, as they have practically not changed since the initial release. Still, the designers are constantly making adjustments to this add-on and refining it, taking into account the wishes of the fan community. At the moment, Packed Up is available for Minecraft 1.21 for almost all the available loaders.

To use a backpack, press the default O key. An additional inventory will open that allows you to transfer items between it and your main inventory. In general, that is a convenient system that allows you to quickly and effectively manage a large number of items. Any character in Minecraft will now be able to carry a much bigger amount of valuable materials, blocks, and artifacts. That is very helpful, say, when a player goes down into a mine and needs to collect all the gathered blocks and resources of different types.

Another noteworthy feature is that Packed Up allows you to rename backpacks. That is convenient, say, if you store several different items of the same type. To do that, take the backpack in your hand and click the RMB holding the Shift button. Type the name and confirm the operation. The name can be changed in approximately the same way, and it is up to each player how exactly to name their storage means. You should also take into account that Packed Up does not add silver and copper ingots to Minecraft, and you will have to install a separate mod that adds them.

In the config file, any player can change the storage capacity for each backpack, say, three rows to ten. Then, the volume of the backpack will increase significantly. The Packed Up mod is perfect for Minecraft server admins who would like to add some special options for Premium accounts and basic player profiles. The thorough configuration system allows you to choose which rights to grant and to whom, which is also a great advantage of the mod. So be sure to install it if you want to expand the list of Minecraft's features and get additional cells for storing and carrying resources.
