The New Shield Variants mod adds a wide range of shields with different designs to Minecraft, and each of them has its specific abilities and effects. As a result, you’ll get not only new shields with different textures, but a unique means of protection as well. Gradually, you’ll realize how important this attribute is in battle. You can use it both in single-player survival mode and on any server, diversifying the standard play on the project. The developer’s main idea is to add more different shields from different materials to Minecraft. Initially, the developer added new types of shields only, so that the player could craft them from different materials and get beautiful items. But over time, he realized that he needed to integrate something unique so that players would be motivated to install New Shield Variants. Then, several new items with additional effects appeared. · Dragon Shield – it can temporarily slow down players using the «Slow Down» effect. If you use this shield, you get a significant advantage in battle;

· Shulker Shield – whenever a player uses this shield in the game, the enemy will levitate. The mechanics are almost similar to how the Shulker hits you in the End in the vanilla version of the game.

Each shield has its specific durability, which depends on the material used to make it. Accordingly, diamond will always be better than stone and iron, but it can be made from Netherite, which is by times stronger, and, doesn’t burn in lava. At the same time, the developer added a large number of effects for shields in New Shield Variants, which aren’t specifically mentioned anywhere, for example, the possibility of using TNT in combat and so on. You’ll have to test each shield to roughly understand which defenses are better, and how they can help you in battle!

The New Shield Variants add-on works great on any Minecraft server, and if you use a combat system between players, arenas, or mass events, then be sure to add this mod, as it allows you to diversify the combat system in a couple of clicks and integrate a large number of shields into Minecraft.
