An Extension for Farmer's Delight

Farmer's Delight adds a huge number of new types of foodstuffs, ingredients, furniture, and interior items to Minecraft. It is one of the global mods related to farming and is virtually a leader in this category. That is why many designers began to release their own add-ons to diversify it and bring even more content. Today, we are going to tell you about a mod called More Delight, which will add even more different types of food and blocks to Minecraft to diversify the menu of players. If you have already used the basic mod, it is worth expanding your build.

The new content will be indeed rich: all the items are elaborate, can boast unique textures, and have a specific in-game purpose. Thus, you will be able to try new foodstuffs, store all food in glass cabinets, and cook various toasts, omelets, ice cream, burgers, and much more. The most interesting thing is that you will be able to apply several more kitchen knives, which you will be able to use not only as an item for cutting food but also as a weapon against mobs — although they do not cause particularly big damage.

Saturation is one of the significant in-game indicators, allowing you to move and restore health faster. From time to time, the player has to replenish their saturation points using different food types. And even though there are not that few foodstuffs in Minecraft, we can say that their range is scarce compared to custom mods. Players mainly use apples, bread, sometimes cakes, and sugar as food. To bake bread is the easiest way, as that requires only wheat, which can be obtained even at the start. It is here where More Delight, which adds many new cooking recipes, comes to the rescue.

Yes, it brings precisely recipes for foodstuffs, not foodstuffs themselves. Original and new ingredients can be found in Farmer's Delight, and the special More Delight add-on only expands the list of the available recipes for different dishes. Thus, you will now be able to prepare a large number of toasts with eggs, berries, meat, and other ingredients. The choice is indeed huge, considering how many different food types were already been added to the game. Only one component changes in this case, while all the other ingredients remain basically the same. That is a significant advantage for beginners who cannot immediately learn all the in-game recipes. Still, you can use JEI for these purposes to quickly view any combinations.

You will also be able to cook various kinds of pasta to quickly restore the saturation points of your character. Thanks to such a choice, each player will increase their chances of survival both in the Overworld and the Nether, inhabited by numerous hostile mobs. Given the available ingredients, you will be able to decide which kind of pasta to prepare, how to use it, etc. The only inconvenience is that you will have to learn and see how much saturation point this or that dish gives from experience since there is no information about that in the description.

Next on the list are different types of sandwiches, which are one of the most popular food categories in the world. To create them, you will be able to use tomatoes, eggs, herbs, and other ingredients. Most of them are stackable up to 64. That is a huge advantage for players who often visit different biomes and simply wander around the game world. The more items you can fit in one stack, the more food you can take with you. If you have shulker shells, do not forget to craft a shulker box and put all kinds of foodstuffs into it.

The last but significant category is kitchen knives. They can be used for both cutting up different food types and self-defense against mobs. They deal 2.2–2.8 damage points, depending on the type. You will be able to apply wooden and stone ones, but it would be nice to see the iron variants in the future, as they would be closer to reality. However, that is up to the designer. For now, More Delight is available for Minecraft 1.20.1 and is actively supported only for Fabric, so you will have to make the latter a basis for your build.

The original Farmer's Delight has its own range of knives, beginning with the stone ones and ending with netherite ones, but they have a slightly different appearance and characteristics. So if you would like to take advantage of more new food types in Minecraft, be sure to add More Delight to your build and enjoy the gameplay. By the way, any add-ons created for some mod should be considered their extensions.
