Review Merchant Markers [NeoForge]

Villagers’ Profession Marked

Almost every player who finds civilians’ village in Minecraft immediately tries to settle somewhere nearby to trade with them or to take the first seeds for planting different crops. Trade plays an important role for any player, as you can exchange many decorative blocks, armor, weapons, enchantment books, and a hundred other items. And if you carry out the «infection – cure» ritual for each NPC, then the price will be cut for you by times. However, most civilians look similar, and if the player is just a beginner, they will probably have problems finding a particular resident and understanding their profession.

The developer of the Merchant Markers add-on thinks about the same way; so, he created a separate mod that allows you to put certain marks on each villager in Minecraft to show you, which profession they have. This is convenient for both beginners and gurus who have been playing Minecraft for a long time. After all, you don’t have to approach to understand whom you are looking at, which saves you some time. Also, you can use markers to speed up interaction with the right NPCs, if there are really a lot of them. In general, you should try installing this mod and see what it can do…

The Merchant Markers mod adds customized markers above each villager, so that you can see them quicker and determine which profession the NPC you are looking at has. Now, you won’t have to approach mobs, but will just need to look in their direction, and the system will automatically highlight a certain icon above their heads. We recommend trying it to save time on searching for one or another NPC in Minecraft. For example, you can quickly find enchanters who will sell you different types of books with effects. And if reproduce and colonize civilians, the Merchant Markers mod will perfectly help you with these.

Also, the Merchant Markers add-on implies using this mod to quickly search for a village with residents. For example, you are somewhere underground and don’t realize that there is a village above you. But with this mod, the system will automatically start highlighting the residents’ professions, and you’ll immediately understand what is above the player. Moreover, the icons and labels clearly show you which professions you are looking are, which is very convenient for the vanilla version of the game. Besides, the developer has added support of several large mods onto the maps, and now these icons can additionally be displayed on the maps.

There is a separate configuration file, where you can choose options to be displayed above each resident, the maximum distance to the point to see it, and whether the data will be visible through the walls or not. Here, each player configures a specific style of the Merchant Markers mod to suit their tasks and project reality, because you can use this add-on both as a client and on the server. In addition, there are also a few other important settings that you definitely need to know about. There are 4 data type options that can be displayed in this mod, namely:

· User’s – by default, civilians have particular icons to show each profession. For example, farmers have their own labels, and others are for enchanters, and they are enabled by default immediately after installing the Merchant Markers mod. If you want, you can add other data from resource packs, especially when you need to integrate new professions from other mods;

· Items – another display option for different professions of civilians, related to workers’ different elements. For example, a farmer may have a kind of fruit or a hoe, a tanner has leather, armorers have a breastplate, and so on;

· Works – the system will show the texture of the work block related to a civilian, but keep in mind that you can’t change them;

· Generic – by default, will show the same icon for all the villagers that you meet on the way. You can change it using resource packs.

Even though the Merchant Markers mod is highly specialized, it really has a lot of parameters for detailed configuration. Now, you can choose to display icons and labels for civilians in Minecraft in a convenient style. If you have texture packs that support this option, then this is a win-win option. Use all the advantages of the Merchant Markers mod and don’t forget about various professions you can add to the cubic world using third-party mods. Merchant Markers supports most of the mods that integrate new civilians, however, we recommend testing them first to check this.
