If you are reading this article, most likely you want to add more alternative light sources to Minecraft so that you don’t depend on torches and don’t keep carrying wood and charcoal to craft new «luminaries». This is the old mechanics of vanilla Minecraft, and many mod creators are trying to come up with versatile items and mechanisms that make it easier to travel in dark biomes and caves. Some mods simply add new light sources so that players have more opportunities to craft and can generally aesthetically enjoy such items.

But today we’ll talk about something completely different! The Mage Flame mod adds new light sources that will follow you in the game . The mechanics are about the same as in Harry Potter, where candles flew in the air. Here, you’ll also be able to craft certain types of torches that will always follow the player. You’ll need magic scrolls for that. But don’t rush to scroll through this review! There are no global magic recipes, hundreds of new items, the search for particular dungeons and other content that you always have in magic mods. There is only one option – using magic scrolls to craft alternative light sources.

There’s a simple way to craft magic scrolls in Minecraft: it’s mainly a piece of paper, a regular torch, and a few other ingredients, depending on the option used. Therefore, in Mage Flame it won’t be difficult to get new «luminaries» even at the initial stage of the game. The torch you get is a full-fledged standard item that you are used to in Minecraft. It’s slightly improved, for example, it has a different color, lighting angle, and scattering. The most important point here is that the torch automatically follows you, which is extremely important for this mod.

From now on, you won’t have to place hundreds of torches in caves or any other locations. Just install one of the selected options, and it will follow you everywhere. It’s up to each player to choose, which torch to make in the game. Indeed, the developer of the Mage Flame mod has elaborated each scroll, so they all feature beautiful textures, details, and certain differences. So that you understand their peculiarities, we will briefly describe each option:

· The Magic Flame Scroll – creates a small fireball, which is almost the weakest in terms of luminosity among all that are available to you in Mage Flame. As they say, it’s suitable for apprentice spellcasters. It provides a certain light, but it’s not so good that you can clearly see everything. As soon as it falls behind the character or can’t fly over an obstacle, it will disappear;

· The Great Revelation Scroll is the most powerful luminary available to you in the game. The spellcaster directs a huge amount of energy to create a large green lantern that will illuminate any roads, paths, and caves for you. It can destroy blocks, follows the player everywhere, and even if you fly quickly through the game world in the administrator mode, it will still keep up with you;

· The Winged Torch Summoning Scroll – summons a beautiful winged torch, which really does have small white wing like an angel. It illuminates the ordinary and even in the Nether World and follows you everywhere until it loses sight of you or is destroyed;

· The Small Revelation Scroll is a more powerful version of the «Magic Flame», which also creates a green ball. However, it has more light, dispersion, and longer service life compared to its predecessor.

Whichever torch you choose, they will all follow you and illuminate any location. This is the main task of the Mage Flame mod. Many cheats have an option of automatically illuminating the selected area in front of the character, no matter where he is, but players are often banned for this on servers. But the mod offers quite an interesting and permitted way to use endless light sources, which you’ll still need craft. But their advantage is that you won’t have to put and remove the torches all the time. All you need is to craft a few, and one of them will follow you flying.

You can only use one torch of a specific category. For example, you crafted 3 small revelation scrolls. You can only launch one, and it will follow you everywhere until it is destroyed. If you try to launch the second one right away, the first one will self-destroy. You can’t use multiple scrolls from different categories at once either. They simply replace each other, which is a big problem. You should choose the option you like the most and craft several such torches right away, for example, for visiting the Nether worlds and going down into the mines. In case one of them disappears for some reason, you’ll always will be able to launch the second or third one in one click, just taking them out of the inventory.
